Border Security Force (BSF) is one of the most acclaimed Para-Military Forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. Guarding the international borders along the controversial LOC (Pakistan Border) and the borders of Kuchh desert, China, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, this force has own many laurels for its bravery and gallantry nature. Working with such a force is considered to be of highest repute among the Indians today.
With the recent notification from the BSF, it intends to recruit Constables (General Duty) through under the sportspersons quota. The aspirants, who excel in various sports disciplines, can apply for this selection for a promising career in Border Security Force.

Pay Scale:
- The candidates selected as Constable (General Duty) will be eligible to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.2000 under PB-I
- Apart from the basic pay scale the candidates selected will be eligible to get allowances and other facilities as per rules
Age Criteria:
- Age of the candidate should be within 18 to 23 years as on 1-August-2013. Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates as well as others as per rules
Educational Requirements:
- The applicant should have passes Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board
Sports Qualification:
A person will be considered eligible if he is:
- A sportsperson who has represented his state in any of the national and international level competition as mentioned above
- A sportsperson who has represented his University in any of the Inter-University level competition/ competition held by Inter-University Sports Board as mentioned above
- A sportsperson who has represented his School in any of the School level competition held by the All India School Games Federation
Physical Standard: As per the rules and regulations of the BSF
- Height: 170 Cm
- Weight: In proportion to Height
- Chest: 80 cm (Unexpanded) and 85 cm (Expanded)
- Eye sight: 6/6 and 6/9 in both eyes without correction
Selection Procedure:
The selection process shall consist of following stages:
- Height Bar Test
- Identity Check
- Checking of Testimonials and Certificates
- Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Trial in various Sports Disciplines
- Final Medical Examination
Application Fees:
- For SC/ST: Fees Exempted
- For all others: Rs.50
- The fees can be paid in shape of a Crossed Demand Draft/ Indian Postal Order drawn in favor of ‘The Commandant, 25th Battalion, BSF’ and payable at SBI Chhawala, New Delhi (for DD) and Post Office, Chhawala, New Delhi (for IPO)
