Secondary Education Department, Government of Assam, has decided to hold a Special Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Examination tentatively in the month March/ April, 2016 for Hindi and Sanskrit Subjects in Secondary Education, Assam.
Test Pattern: Candidates will have to appear in the written examination of 100 marks (100 Multiple Choice Questions). 50 questions will be asked form General Studies & Current Affairs topics, and 50 questions would be of Subject Specific. Candidates have to qualify both the parts separately to qualify the exam. To qualify in TET Examination the candidate must score at least 60% marks. However, 5% relaxation in marks will be given for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ MOBC/ PWD.
Validity of Certificate: The validity of the certificate shall be for a maximum period of five years from the date of issue of the certificate.
Number of Vacancies: 1031 Posts in Hindi, and 587 Posts in Sanskrit Subject

Qualification: B.T/ B. Ed. Degree is an essential prerequisite eligibility qualification for Secondary teachers. Candidates must be a Graduate from a recognized University with B.T/B. Ed. from a recognized University and should possess requisite qualification for Hindi/ Sanskrit subjects.
Hindi Teacher: Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized university or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T/ B. Ed. degree from any recognized University/ Institutions.
Sanskrit Teacher: Shastri with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T/ B.Ed degree from any recognized University/ Institutions.
Upper Age Limit: 38 years as on 01-January-2016. SC/ ST category candidates will get five years of relaxation in upper age limit.
