Channelizing youth potential through dynamic verticals of initiatives are among the primary agenda of the sovereign government of India. Jammu and Kashmir has been in special focus of Government of India for its special recognition and one of the most politically active states of the country. This state has also faced quite a long period of insurgency and terrorism and is still in conflict over the most significant India-Pakistan dispute.
To motivate the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and to channelize their potential for constructive development of the nation, the Government of India has evoked a fresh scheme of Special Industry Initiative for Jammu and Kashmir (SII J&K). Through this initiative the government has planned to offer skill development initiative to 8000 youths every year for next five years and will try to integrate their potential in the key industry sectors. This scheme is named as ‘Udaan’ and this is intended to be implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with corporate sectors as a Public Private Partnership effort. The scheme has been approved by Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs and an Expert Group from the PMO is entrusted to propagate a plan of action.
Scope of Udaan:
The Udaan is intended to serve all youth talents who are graduate, post graduate and professional degree holders. This is intended for youths who are educated but lack in market skills and this scheme intends to expose these educated potential to the present corporate world so as to maneuvering their hidden potential to the constructive development of the state.
Target Group:
Primarily the educated individuals from graduate, post graduate and professional degree courses will be targeted to be covered under this SII J&K. This will help these youth to get a feel of the corporate India and at the same time help the corporate India to explore the virgin talents from this state.
Overview:
In absence of job potential the potential of youth in general are become alienated and there by the state as well as the country loses their positive energy as creative geniuses. By offering this Special Industry Initiative the youth can look out for a path of career success as well as positive contribution towards the state.
The Procedure:
Under this special initiative the corporate and the companies are entrusted to identify the educated mass among the aspirants. They will screen for the candidates to identify the skill gap and formulate a strategic training module and duration of the skill development initiative so as to nurture the talents to meet the specific industry standards.
The Training Facility:
The government of India has planned to relocate the screened trainees to a facility where they can obtain intensive job oriented training programs. This will help to create a positive ambience so that they can feel their presence in the world of corporate.
The Expected Outcomes:
Udaan is planned to offer well paid jobs to the selected individuals who are as per the industry expectations and can take up the training successfully. As this training is targeted towards the educated individuals with high level of intellect, the outcomes are expected to be shining bright. This will help the youth for delivering a positive contribution to their society and will help them to utilize their skills for a constructive development of their state on broader aspects.
