South Bihar Power Distribution Co. Ltd. Recruitment 2013 for Security Havildar and Security Guard From Ex-SM category

Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL) is operating in the state of Bihar with three subsidiary companies namely North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (NBPDCL), South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (SBPDCL) and Bihar State Power Transmission Company Ltd. (BSPTCL). Out of these the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. (SBPDCL) has been functioning as one of the vital companies responsible for power distribution throughout the southern region of the state. Though SBPDCL deals in only one product, i.e., electrical power, its significance and utility value is enormous for the State. Almost all aspects of modern life-style are dependent on it in one way or another.
In order to ensure that its responsibilities are discharged effectively and efficiently, the parent Company, BSPTCL has engaged nearly 1,700 officer and 14,850 staffs on various posts to generate its own power and to maintain proper distribution system. It arranges to supply the electricity properly to the consumers and maintain their equipments.
With the recent announcement from the SBPDCL, there is requirement of Security Havildar and Security Guards, who will be working with the South Bihar State Power Distribution Company Limited. These posts will be contractual for a period of 1 year, which may be extended as per the requirement and as per satisfactory performance of the candidates. These posts are only available for Ex-Servicemen candidates having adequate service experience and licensed guns.
The details of the vacancies and the requisite criteria for selection are detailed as below:

Details of the Vacancies: Total 185 Posts
- Security Havildar: 37 Positions (UR-19, SC-06, EBC-07, BC-04 & Women(BC)-1)
- Security Guard: 148 Positions (UR-74, SC-24, ST-02, EBC-26, BC-18 & Women(BC)-4)

Pay Scale & Remunerations:
- Security Havildar: The selected candidates will be eligible for a consolidated remuneration of Rs.9500 per month
- Security Guard: The selected candidates will be eligible for a consolidated remuneration of Rs.9000 per month
- Other allowances and perks will be offered to candidates as per rules.
Contract Period:
- The candidates selected for the post will be appointed on a contract period of 1 year from the date of appointment.
- No claim for permanent recruitment will be entertained after completion of probation period..
Age Criteria:
- Security Havildar: Interested candidates applying for these posts of Security Havildar must not have crossed the maximum age of 48 years.
- Security Guard: Interested candidates applying for these posts of Security Guard must not have crossed the maximum age of 45 years.
- However, relaxation in upper age for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD/ BC/ EBC/ Women will be applicable as per rules.
Eligibility Conditions (as on closing date of receipt of Application):
- Security Havildar:
- Must have completed 15 years of Armed Service in must not have retired below the rank of Havildar
- Must have knowledge of EME/ Technical of Armed Forces.
- Must have his own licensed Pistol/ Revolver
- Must be physically fit and fine
- Security Guard:
- Must have completed 15 years of Armed Service in must not have retired below the rank of Havildar
- Must have knowledge of EME/ Technical of Armed Forces.
- Must have his own licensed 12 bore gun
- Must be physically fit and fine
Application Fee:
- For SC/ ST candidates of Bihar State: Rs.25
- For all others including SC/ST from other states: Rs.100
- Application fee need to be deposited in shape of a Demand Draft from any nationalised bank in favor of “Sr. Manager (Finance & Accounts), South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, Patna” and should be payable at Patna
Selection Procedure :
- The selection process will involve shortlisting on the basis of career, Physical Fitness Test and Interview.
