SAIL Recruitment 2013 For Induction of Medical Officers and Paramedical Staff at Bokaro Steel Plant

With the recent notification, Bokaro Steel Plant and Steel Refractory Unit (SRU) offers excellent career opportunities to experienced, energetic, dynamic medical professionals as, Medical Officers. Opportunities are also being offered for Paramedical staff in the following discipline for providing best healthcare facilities at Bokaro General Hospital & its Health Centers.

The details of the criteria for eligibility and concerned process for selection are detailed as under:  Employment Notification Number:  BSL/R/2013-04

  • Starting Date of Registering Online Application: 10-June-2013
  • Last date Of Registration of Online Application: 08-July-2013
  • Date for Payment of Application Fees: In between 10-June till 08-July-2013
  • Availability of payment reconciliation status with edit option: 15-July-2013
  • Closing Date of Payment editing option: 22-July-2013
  • Display of Final reconciliation status: 29-July-2013

Details of Vacancy Positions:

  • Medical Officer (ME-1 Grade) for Bokaro Steel Plant: 05 positions (UR-03, SC-01, and OBC-01 positions out of which PWD-02 positions(backlog))
  • Medical Officer (ME-1 Grade) for SAIL Refractory Unit, Bokaro: 02 positions (UR-01, and OBC-01 positions out of which PWD-01 positions)
  • Jr. Staff Nurse (Trainee) (S3 Grade): 16 positions (UR-07, SC-02, ST-04 and OBC-03 positions)
  • Jr. Technician Trainee (Medical Lab) (S3 Grade): 2 positions (UR-01, SC-01)
  • Jr. Technician Trainee (Radiography) (S3 Grade): 2 positions (UR)
  • Jr. Technician Trainee (Dialysis) (S3 Grade): 2 positions (UR)
  • Jr. Pharmacist Trainee (S3 Grade): 8 positions (UR-4, SC-1, ST-2, OBC-1)
  • Jr. Technician Trainee, CATH-LAB (S3 Grade): 1 position (UR)
  • Jr. Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee- ECG/EEG (S1 Grade): 2 positions (UR)
  • Jr. Attendant-cum-Assistant Trainee- Darkroom (S1 Grade): 1 position (UR)

Pay Scale Provisions:

  • Medical Officers (in ME-1 Grade): The applicants will be inducted on a Pay Scale of Rs.20600-Rs.46500 with annual increment of 3%
  • S3 Grade: The applicants will be inducted on a Pay Scale of Rs.9160-Rs.13150 with annual increment of 3%
  • S1 Grade: The applicants will be inducted on a Pay Scale of Rs.8630-Rs.12080 with annual increment of 3%

NOTE: For all posts of Trainees against S3 & S1 grade (Non-Executives) selected candidates will be under Training for a period of 2 years.

  • The selected applicants in S3 grade will be eligible for a stipend of Rs.10700 per month in the first year of their training and Rs.12200 in the second year of their training. After successful completion they will be eligible to receive a scale pay in the S-3 Grade.
  • The selected applicants in S1 Grade will be eligible for a stipend of Rs.8600 per month in the first year of their training and Rs.10000 in the second year of their training. After successful completion they will be eligible to receive a scale pay in the S-1 Grade.
  • Apart from the Basic pay the candidates will be eligible for DA, Company Accommodation, CCA, Incentive, Reimbursement of Local Traveling Expenses and other facilities such as medical for self and family, PF, Gratuity as per company rules.

Academic Requirements:

  • Medical Officer (ME-1 Grade): The applicants should have MBBS with at least 1 year post-qualification experience in recognized Medical College/ Hospital/ Institution.
  • Jr. Staff Nurse (Trainee): The applicants should have B.Sc. (Nursing) after Intermediate (10+2) Science and with a valid registration in Nursing Council of India/ State Nursing Council. Should have at least 1 year post qualification experience in a Hospital/ Nursing Home.
  • Jr. Technician Trainee (Medical Lab): The applicants should have B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) or 10+2 Science with 2 years Diploma in Medical Lab Technology. Should have At least 1 year post qualification experience in a Hospital/ Nursing Home
  • Jr. Technician Trainee (Radiography): The applicants should have B.Sc. (Radiography) or 10+2 Science with 2 years Diploma in Radiography. Should have At least 1 year post qualification experience in a Hospital/ Nursing Home
  • Jr. Technician Trainee (Dialysis): The applicants should have B.Sc. with Diploma in Dialysis Technology (DDT). Should have At least 1 year post qualification experience in a Hospital/ Nursing Home
  • Jr. Pharmacist Trainee: The applicants should have Degree in Pharmacy or 10+2 Science with 2 years Diploma in Pharmacy and should have registered with Pharmacy Council of India/ State Pharmacy council. Should have At least 1 year post qualification experience in a Hospital/ Nursing Home
  • Jr. Technician Trainee, CATH-LAB: The applicants should have B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics/ 10+2 in science with Diploma in CATH-LAB technology. Should have At least 1 year post qualification experience in any CATH-Lab of an ISO certified Hospital.
  • Jr. Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee- ECG/EEG: The applicants should have 10+2 (Intermediate) with certificate in ECG/EEG technology. Should have at least 1 year post qualification experience in ECG/ EEG/ EMG in a hospital
  • Jr. Attendant-cum-Assistant Trainee- Darkroom: The applicants should have 10+2 (Intermediate). Should have at least 1 year post qualification experience in X-Ray film  processing in a Hospital

Age Criteria:

  • The upper age limit for Medical Officers: 30 years as on 01-May-2013
  • The upper age limit for S3 & S1 Grade: 28 years as on 01-May-2013
  • Note: However, age will be relaxable for the SC, ST, OBC, PWD candidates as per rules

Application Fee:

For Medical Officer Posts:

  • For SC/ ST/ PWD/ Departmental Candidates: Rs.100
  • For General and OBC: Rs.500

For Para-Medical Posts (S3 and S1 grade):

  • For SC/ ST/ PWD/ Departmental Candidates: Rs.50
  • For General and OBC: Rs.250 (for S3 Grade posts) & Rs.150 (for S1 Grade Posts)
  • The fee can be paid through Pay-in Slip downloaded from the website of SAIL at www.sail.co.in and remitted towards SBI Power Jyoti A/c No. 31877168126 maintained by at SBI sector 4, Bokaro Steel City branch in the name of SAIL/ Bokaro Steel Plant
  • The candidates have to remit an extra Rs.20 towards processing fee to the SBI
  • There will be no other mode of payment of fees.

Training Period:

  • The applicants selected for the jobs as trainee will be inducted in a Training Duration expanding over a minimum of 2 years. This may be further expanded if desired by SAIL.
  • After successful completion of the training period the candidates will be inducted as technicians in the same scale of S-3/ S-1 as per the posts

Mode of Selection:

The selection of candidates will be done through the following stages:

  • Scrutiny of Candidature
  • Written Examination
  • Interview
  • Final Medical Test
