WBPSC Advertisement No. 1/2018- Public Service Commission, West Bengal invites applications from interested and eligible candidates for recruitment of Medical Officer (General Duty) and Medical Officer in various specialities in West Bengal Employees State Insurance Medical Service under the Labour Deaprtment. Selected candidates must be registered as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal prior to joining.
Medical Officer (General Duty): 111 Vacancies
Candidates must possess Medical qualifications included in the First and Second Schedule and Part- II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal. Candidates possess Six months practical training as House Staff in Government hospital or other recognized Institution will be preferred.
Medical Officer: 54 Vacancies in GENERAL MEDICINE/FAMILY MEDICINE, RADIOLOGY, ANAESTHESIOLOGY, PATHOLOGY, ORTHOPAEDICS, SURGERY, BIOCHEMISTRY, PAEDIATRICS
Candidates must possess Medical qualifications included in the First and Second Schedule or Part- II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal.
Candidates must having recognised Post-Graduate qualification in a particular speciality or equivalent qualification.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15, 600/- – Rs. 42, 000/- (Pay Band – 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5, 400/- plus E.S.I. allowance, non-practicing allowance and certain admissible allowances as per rules
Upper Age Limit: 36 years for ordinary Medical Graduates and 40 years for those possessing Post-graduate Medical qualifications on 01-January-2018. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per government rules.

Last date of fees payment: The 26th February, 2018
Offline payment of fees can be made up to the 27th February, 2018 at any branches of UBI. However, the Challan for making the payment in bank should be generated by the 26th February, 2018.
Selection Process: Selection process will be based on written exam, and interview.
Application Fee:
Rs. 210/- + Service Charge 1% of Examination Fee subject to a minimum of Rs.5/- for online paymentthrough debit/credit card plus 12.36% of service charge as Govt. Duty or Service Charge of Rs.5/- (Rupees Five) only for Net Banking or Service Charge of Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty) only for payment through Bank Counter (off-line payment).
SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal, and Persons with disabilities (PWD) having physical disability of 40% and above are not required to pay any fee.
