Candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Examination (250 Marks covering topics as Computer Knowledge Test, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language and Comprehension), Interview, and trial. Selected candidates shall be on probation for a period of two years.

Educational Qualification:
Inspector of Income Tax- Candidates must possess Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.
Tax Assistant- Candidates must possess Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent. Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depression per hour.
Multitasking Staff- Candidates must have passed Intermediate or its equivalent from a recognized board or university.
Sports Eligibility: Candidates must have fulfill minimum eligibility criteria as per official recruitment advertisement, in order to be consideration for said posts.
Sportsmen who have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition in any of the games/sports.
Sportsmen who have represented their University in the Inter University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Boards in any of the sports/games.
Sportsmen who have represented the State School Teams in the National Sports/games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the games/sports.
Sportsmen who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

Age Limit As on 01-Jan-2023: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years for Multi Tasking Staff (27 years for Tax Assistant, 30 years for Inspector of Income Tax). However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per rules.
Selection process: Candidates applying for the posts Inspector of Income-tax in the pay level-7, Tax Assistant in the pay level-4 and Multi Tasking Staff in the pay level-1 in Income Tax Department, will be initially shortlisted based on achievements in Sports. Shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for Written Examination.
