Cochin Shipyard Limited invites application from eligible candidates for recruitment of Fireman & Safety Assistants on contractual basis for a period of three years and may be considered for a further term based on project requirements.

Fireman: Candidate must have passed SSLC. Candidate must possess minimum four to six months training in Fire Fighting from a State Fire Force or Public Sector Undertaking or a Government recognised course from a reputed institute; OR Certificate in Nuclear Biological Chemical Defence and Damage Control (NBCD), including firefighting on-board ships from Armed Forces/ recognised Institutions.
Candidate must have minimum one year experience in firefighting in State Fire Force or in a large Industrial Undertaking or in the Armed Forces or in Public Sector Undertakings or in Private Companies.
Safety Assistant: Candidate must have passed SSLC and possess one year Diploma/ Certificate in Industrial Safety from a Government recognized institute or Public Sector Undertaking.
Candidate must have minimum one year training or experience in safety in a Public Sector Undertaking or a Factory.
Upper Age Limit: 30 years as on April 22, 2017. However, relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category is applicable as per government rules.
Remuneration:
Fireman: Rs. 14000/-pm and compensation for extra hours of work limited to Rs. 4200/- pm.
Safety Assistant: Rs. 14500/-pm and compensation for extra hours of work limited to Rs. 4500/- pm.
Mode of Selection: Candidate will be selected based on the Practical test.
Application Fee: Rs. 100/-
Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) category candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
