Coal India Limited (CIL) as an organized state owned coal mining corporate, which has been conferred a Schedule-A Maharatna status by the Government of India. This is the single largest coal producer in the world and has been operating through 82 mining areas in the country. Coal India Limited operates 345 mines (of which 151 are underground, 172 open cast and 22 mixed mines) under major coalfields spread over 8 states (Assam, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Oisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh) of India. Along with some international establishments, CIL also manages 200 other establishments like workshops, hospitals etc.

CIL has seven producing subsidiaries namely Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) and One mine planning and consultancy company that is Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI).

Criteria with respect to Education:
For Mining, Civil and Electronics & Telecommunication Disciplines- The candidates applying for these job positions must possess BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc. (Engineering) in relevant branch of Engineering with minimum 60% marks.

For System and EDP Discipline- The candidates applying for these job positions must possess BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engineering) in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ IT or MCA, with minimum 60% marks.

However, candidates who have appeared or are appearing in final year / semester/ trimester in the academic year 2021-2022, shall submit final pass results of minimum required qualification by 31.08.2022 failing which their candidature will be rejected.

Criteria with respect to Age: Maximum 30 years as on 31-May-2022. All candidates are advised to visit the Coal India Limited website at regularly to track the updates.

Pay Scale: The candidates selected for Management Trainee will be placed as Management Trainee in E-2
Grade in the scale of pay of ₹ 50,000 – 1,60,000/- at the initial Basic of ₹ 50,000/- per month during the training period. On successful and satisfactory completion of 1-year training period and passing the test conducted for the purpose, regularization will be in E-3 Grade in the scale of pay of ₹ 60,000 – 1,80,000/- at the initial Basic of ₹ 60,000/- with probation for one year.
