With its recent proposal for acquiring potential human resource, BSF intends to recruit 1494 numbers of Constables-Tradesman in various category of trades across India.

Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level 3 of 7th CPC
The candidates selected for this position will be eligible for remuneration in pay matrix Level- 3, Pay scale of Rs. 21,700 – 69,100/- and other allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees.
Eligibility Criteria (Qualification):
Constable (Carpenter), Constable (Plumber), Constable (Painter), Constable (Electrician), Constable(Pump Operator), Constable (Draughtsman), Constable (Upholster), and Constable (Tinsmith)–
The applicants must have passed matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board along with certificate courses from the Industrial Training Institute or at least one year of experience in the trade.
Constable (Cobbler), Constable (Washerman), Constable (Barber), Constable (Mali), and Constable (Khoji/ Syce)-
The applicants must have passed matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board. Candidate Must be proficient and qualify for trade test in the respective trade conducted by the recruitment board.
Constable (Cook), Constable (Water Carrier), Constable (Waiter), and Constable (Butcher)-
The applicants must have passed matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board. National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) level-1 Course in food production or Kitchen from National Skill Development Corporation or from the Institutes recognized by National Skill Development Corporation.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years as on closing date of submission of online applications. However, there will be relaxation for SC, OBC, Ex-SM candidates as per rules.
Physical Standard:
Height- 165 cm for male candidates (155 cm for female candidates) (may be relaxed for certain candidates as per the exact notification of BSF for Constable candidates)
Weight – proportionate to height
Chest – Unexpanded 75 cm and expanded 80 cm for male candidates
Vision: 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without correction (without wearing glasses)
Selection Procedure: The selection will be done through Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency test (as required), Trade Test, Written Examination, and Interview. Candidates will be further selected in order of merit. The candidates will have to undergo a pre-recruitment medical test before final joining.
