Assam Public Service Commission invites applications from interested and eligible candidates for recruitment of Research Assistant and Assistant Professor positions.

Name of the Positions along with Number of Vacancies Advertised:
- Research Assistant under Planning & Development Department: 10 Posts
- Assistant Professor in Diphu Government College, Diphu under Higher Education Department: 17 Posts
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years, and Maximum 38 years as on 01-January-2015. Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per rules.
Educational Qualification Criteria:
Research Assistant: Candidates must have passed Bachelor Degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from any recognized university with Statistics, Economics, Math, Agricultural Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Social Work, Business Administration, Business Management, Geography or Commerce as one of the subjects.
Assistant Professors: Candidates must have Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University; and must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/ SET.
Pay Scale:
- Research Assistant: Rs.8,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- PB-3 plus Grade Pay of Rs.4300/- PM plus other allowances as admissible.
- Asstt. Professors: Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/- Grade Pay of Rs. 6,600/- with other allowances as admissible.
Selection Process: Selection process will be based on Screening test, and Viva-voce.
