Qualification: Candidates must have passed matriculation/ 10th/ SSLC examination from a recognised board.Those awaiting results of the final examinations for the prescribed qualification are not eligible. Candidates must have fulfil required physical standards.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 28 years as on 01-July-2024. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per rules.
Pay Scale: Rs. 21,700/- plus other allowances Level 3 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of online Computer Based Test (CBT); followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification.
Computer Based Test (CBT-120 Questions; 90 Minutes; General Awareness 50 mark+Arithmetic 35 marks+General Intelligence & reasoning 35 marks) shall be held simultaneously for all Zonal Railways and RPSF.
Selected candidates will have to undergo a rigorous initial training in any one of the RPF/RPSF training centre or any other such institution as decided by the Railway Administration. The trainee recruits/cadets will be given a stipend of Rs. 21,700/- plus other allowances as admissible.
Examination Fee:
Rs. 250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-serviceman/ Female/ Minorities/ Economically backward class candidates
Rs. 500/- for all other candidates

Exam Syllabus:
Phase I – Computer Based Test (CBT):
Candidates will be required to answer all questions and shall be awarded 01 (one) mark for each correct answer. Negative marks shall be awarded for every wrong answer. 1/3 marks shall be deducted for every wrong answer. No mark shall be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted
Written Exam of Objective type MCQs, divided into 3 parts containing questions of 1 marks each on:
(a) General Awareness (50 marks)
(b) Arithmetic (35 marks)
(c) General Intelligence & reasoning (35 marks)
Phase II – Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Phase III: Document Verification (DV)
Formation of Railway Protection Force (RPF):
The Railway Protection Force is constituted as per the Railway Protection Act laid during the year 1957.
