Teaching As A Profession: What Best Ways Can Be Sought By Such Aspirants

Imparting education to a group of students is fancied by a lot of people these days and hence the profession of a teacher is in high demand. The terminology of teaching will encompass a wide variety of opinions but the commonality of the scenario is that such jobs require people going into the classrooms and making the students understand about a particular subject or topic.

The meaning can be stretched to include someone who is explaining the rhymes and stories in standard I in schools as well as the professor who is addressing a hall full of students about the law of kinetics. Teaching profession is very vast and therefore the opportunities in this particular profession can be humongous.

Although the education in the higher degree courses and in universities is also inclusive under teaching, yet the career in teaching would be mostly implying the teachers in the school and college levels. But still, every such work profile which involves going into a classroom and explaining students is termed as a teacher.

As a job which is respected in the society, these are among the top scorers in terms of demand for the respect quotient. Starting from the teachers and headmasters in the village level to the lecturers, readers and professors in the university levels, the profession is highly respected in general. Apart from the respect, teachers are nowadays getting a good salary, although the scenario has looked up in recent years since the implementation of the 6th pay commission. Teachers at almost all levels are getting a good pay as compared to their predecessors a few years back.

At times of recession when the manufacturing and services sectors faced a lot of crunch, there was almost no effect on the trend of teacher recruitment because education is never going to take a backseat. As an afterthought of such benefits, teachership is being sought by many students as a voluntary decision.

Levels of getting recruited into a career in teaching are:

Primary teaching level is obtained with the qualification of a Bachelor in Education degree or diploma in education, usually after the 10+2 level.

For the secondary and senior secondary school teachers, people need to apply for bachelor of education after their graduation degrees which are known as the Trained Graduate Teachers orTGT. For those aspirants of teaching jobs, who have finished their post graduation can go for the bachelor of education which is known as the Post Graduate Trained Teachers or PGTT.

College or university level lectureship or professorship is possible to be obtained by the passing of National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC-CSIR so that the candidates who score good marks can go for lectureship in government colleges in the country.

Careers in teaching sector have been burgeoning in the present day world with opening up of many colleges and universities. With more stress on primary and secondary level education from the government, these levels teacher recruitments are also being seen in large numbers. People whoa re interested for peaceful as well as satisfying life should rethink their strategies and come to accept the teaching profession as their full time careers.
