SSC Western Region Recruitment 2014 for Various Profiles Of Group B and Group C Posts

With the recent announcement from Staff Selection Commission – Western Region, applications are being invited for filling-up various positions of Group B and Group C cadre positions under various departments under the state and central government.

The details of the vacancies and criteria for selection thereof are described as under:

Category No- WR-03 – Bosun: 05 Posts (UR-03, OBC-03 & Not suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-04 – Sr. Scientific Assistant: 08 Posts (UR-05, OBC-01, SC-01, ST-01 & NOT suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-05 – Clerk: 01 Post (UR & suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-06 – Assistant Manager cum Storekeeper: 01 Post (UR & suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-13 – Sr. Library and Information Assistant: 01 Post (UR & suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-14 – Draughtsman Grade-I: 34 Posts (UR-17, OBC-10, SC-05, ST-02 & suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-15 – Library and Information Assistant: 04 Posts (OBC & suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-16 – Chargeman-II: 13 Posts (UR-04, OBC-05, SC-02, ST-02 & NOT suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-17 – Quarantine Inspector: 03 Posts (UR & NOT suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-18 – Deputy Ranger: 03 Posts (UR-02, OBC-01 & NOT suitable for PH candidates)

Category No- WR-19 – Senior Radio Technician: 01 Post (SC & suitable for PH candidates)

NOTE: 

Reservation Rule:

  • The rules of reservation for SC, ST, BC, EBC, WBC candidates are applicable as per the normal recruitment norms as stipulated by Government of India.

Pay Scale:

  • For Assistant Epigraphist (Arabic and Persian Inscriptions), Dietician Grade-III, Bosun, Sr. Scientific Assistant, Jr. Technical Assistant, Accountant, Scientific Assistant, Store Superintendent, Sr. Library and Information Assistant, Draughtsman Grade-I, Library and Information Assistant, Chargeman-II, Quarantine Inspector, Senior Radio Technician: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 and Grade Pay of Rs.4200 along with other perks and allowances in PB-II.
  • For Junior Cartographic Assistant: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 and Grade Pay of Rs.2800 along with other perks and allowances in PB-II.
  • For Assistant Manager cum Storekeeper, Photographer Grade-III, Deputy Ranger: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.2400 along with other perks and allowances in PB-I.
  • For Clerk: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 along with other perks and allowances in PB-I.

Criteria for Age:

  • Assistant Epigraphist (Arabic and Persian Inscriptions): The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Dietician Grade-III: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Bosun: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Sr. Scientific Assistant: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Clerk: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 27 years.
  • Assistant Manager cum Storekeeper: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 27 years.
  • Photographer Grade-III: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 25 years.
  • Junior Cartographic Assistant: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 27 years.
  • Junior Technical Assistant: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Accountant: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Scientific Assistant: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Store Superintendent: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 27 years.
  • Sr. Library and Information Assistant: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Draughtsman Grade-I: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Library and Information Assistant: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 25/ 27/ 30 years (please refer detailed advertisement).
  • Chargeman-II: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 25 years.
  • Quarantine Inspector: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.
  • Deputy Ranger: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 28 years.
  • Senior Radio Technician: The candidates should not have attained 18 years of age and should not have crossed the max age limit of 30 years.

However, the age relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable for candidates belonging to respective identified categories (SC, ST, BC, EBC, WBC, etc.) as per provisions.

Criteria for Education & Academics:

  • Assistant Epigraphist (Arabic and Persian Inscriptions): The candidates should have completed Master’s degree in Persian or Arabic with Medieval Indian History as a subject at the Bachelor’s degree level & Master’s degree in History with Medieval Indian History as a subject and Arabic or Persian as one of the subjects at the Bachelor degree level, or equivalent. Post Graduate Diploma in Archaeology/ Epigraphy is desirable for these posts.
  • Dietician Grade-III: The candidates should have completed Post Graduate Degree in Food Nutrition or Dietetics and Food Service Management with 2 years of experience Or, Degree in Home Science along with Diploma in Dietetics and 2 years experience as a Dietician in Hospital or Medical Institute.
  • Bosun: The candidates should have completed 12th Standard of education or equivalent and must have a Certificate of Competency as Mate Fishing Vessel issued by Mercantile Marine Department.
  • Sr. Scientific Assistant: The candidates should have completed Master Degree in Marine Biology or Zoology or Oceanography or Fishery Science or Fisheries Management or Industrial Fisheries or Aquatic Biology in Fisheries, Or, must have completed Post Graduate Diploma in Fishery Science from the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai.
  • Clerk: The candidates should have completed Matriculation or equivalent with 1 year experience in Government Department/ Undertaking.
  • Assistant Manager cum Storekeeper: The candidates should have completed Matriculation with one year Diploma in Book-Keeping or Store Keeping. Must have at least Three (3) years experience in the same line.
  • Photographer Grade-III: The candidates should have completed Matriculation or equivalent with Knowledge and practical experience of photography and photomicrography, developing, printing, enlarging, copying, etc. Must have Two (2) years experience of taking indoor and outdoor photographs of zoological objects.
  • Junior Cartographic Assistant: The candidates should have completed Master’s Degree in Geography. Diploma in Cartography and must have Practice & Experience in routine Cartographic work is desirable for these posts.
  • Junior Technical Assistant: The candidates should have completed Degree in Commerce or Economics or Degree in Law. This may be relaxed for other-wise qualified candidates as per the discretion of SSC.
  • Accountant: The candidates should have completed a Bachelors Degree with Commerce or Accountancy as a subject. This may be relaxed for other-wise qualified candidates as per the discretion of SSC.
  • Scientific Assistant: The candidates should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Chemistry as a main subject or Diploma in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology. Must have Two (2) years experience in Quality Assurance of Explosives or Chemicals. Knowledge of computers is desirable for these posts.
  • Store Superintendent: The candidates should have completed Diploma in Material Management or any Diploma having Material Management as a subject or Diploma in Pharmacy.
  • Sr. Library and Information Assistant: The candidates should have completed Degree of recognized University or equivalent with Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Diploma in Library Science. Must have Professional experience in a Library of Standing or Certificate in Computer Applications.
  • Draughtsman Grade-I: The candidates should have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with 3 years Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering. (please refer detailed advertisement).
  • Library and Information Assistant: The candidates should have completed Bachelors Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science with Two (2) years professional experience in a Library under Central/ State Government/ Autonomous or Statutory organization/ PSU/ University or Recognized Research or Educational Institution. (Experience is not mandatory for some of these posts – please refer to the original advertisement)
  • Chargeman-II: The candidates should have completed Bachelor of Science degree with Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics OR, A Diploma in Engineering in the appropriate discipline viz Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Board.
  • Quarantine Inspector: The candidates should have completed Bachelors Degree of Science with Zoology or Microbiology as one the essential subjects. Must have Two years experience of conducting research or experiments or measurement in a veterinary laboratory. M.Sc. in Microbiology is desired for these posts.
  • Deputy Ranger: The candidates should have completed 12th Standard or its equivalent or trained Forester or trained Forest Guard from the Regional Forestry School. Must have at least two years experience in Forest survey/ Working Plan Organization/ Forest Resources Survey work in State Forest Department.
  • Senior Radio Technician: The candidates should have completed Degree in Electronics or Electrical, Communication Engineering OR, Diploma in Electronics/Electrical, Communication or Radio Engineering. Must have at least 3 years experience in installation/ maintenance of Electrical/ Wireless equipment such as Wireless Transmitters, Receivers and Aerial Systems.

Application Fee and Intimation charges:

  • For Examination Fee: Rs.50
  • The payment can be made through “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)” only.
  • SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Servicemen/ Women candidates are exempted from paying any fee.
  • No other mode of fee payment will be accepted

Selection Procedure:

  • Usually, the selection to the posts will be made on the basis of a Written Examination/ Interview/ Personality Test/ Skill Test only.
  • The Commission at its discretion decide to hold a screening test for any of the categories where it is felt necessary before Interview/ Personality Test/ Proficiency Test/ Skill Test.
