SSC Syllabus and Exam Pattern for Recruitment of Constables (GD) in CAPFs & Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles
SSC has invited applications of Indian Nationals for posts of
- Constables (GD) in ITBPF, CISF, BSF, SSB and CRPF.
- Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles.
SSC Constables (GD) in CAPFs & Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Selection Procedure:
A written exam will be conducted in order to select eligible candidates. The recruitment will comprise of following sequence of selection procedures:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) which is likely to conduct in February/ March, 2013.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) which will also conduct in February/ March, 2013.
- Written Examination is scheduled for: May 12, 2013
- Medical Examination will held in June/August, 2013
Constables (GD) in CAPFs & Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Written Exam Pattern:
Duration of paper: 2 Hours (10.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M.)
Candidates who successfully pass PET/ PST will be shortlisted and called for written test. Paper of written test will comprise objective questions carrying 100 marks. It will carry total 100 questions from following subject areas:
- General Awareness
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- Quantitative Aptitude in Elementary Mathematics
- Basic Knowledge of English/ Hindi Language.
A set of 25 questions will be based on each subject that will carry 25 marks i.e. one mark for one question. However a candidate would be penalized of ¼ OR 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Constables (GD) in CAPFs & Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Written Test Syllabus:
General Awareness:
In this section candidate will be tested on his basic knowledge about events happening around him. All questions will aim at current affairs and recent developments taking place across world. Educational and observational skills of candidate will be tested and he will be expected to have sound knowledge of various subjects. Questions will be based on events related to History, Culture, Politics, Economy, Sports, Geography, Constitution and Research and Development in India as well as other neighbouring countries.
General Intelligence & Reasoning:
Basically non verbal questions will be asked in order to determine analytical ability of a candidate. Reasoning skills of a candidate will be tested through analogies, spatial visualization, similarities and differences, spatial orientation, discrimination, visual memory, observation, relationship concepts and arithmetical reasoning like figural classification, non-verbal series, arithmetic number series, coding and decoding, etc.
Quantitative Aptitude in Elementary Mathematics:
This section will contain pure mathematical problems. Questions will be related to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Averages, Profit and Loss, Interest, Discount, Mensuration, Ratio and Time, Time and Distance, and Time and Work, etc.
Basic Knowledge of English/ Hindi Language:
Ability of candidate to understand basic comprehensions in either English or Hindi will be tested. He must have sound knowledge of opted language.
Note: Each section will consist of matriculation level questions.
