Staff Selection Commission Invites application for Combines Higher Secondary Level Exam -2012

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts selection examinations for the posts of Grade C and Grade D cadre in diverse establishments of Government of India. With an initiative to fulfill the upcoming requirement of LDC (Lower Division Clerk) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) at various establishments of Government sector.

The total number of vacancies is yet to be estimated, but the selection of competitive candidates are done as per the competency metric and they will be paneled to be recruited as and when requires.

The details of the recruitment procedure are followed as follows:

Positions advertised for: Lower Division Clerk and Data Entry Operator

Age of the candidate:       Should not be more that 27 years and must be at least 18 years as on 1^st January 2012. Age can be relaxed for scheduled categories as specified by the Govt. of India.

Educational Requirements:         A candidate must possess at least a Higher Secondary level of education of 10+2 standard from a recognized university.

The candidates completing Higher Secondary level in distance education mode should be recognized by the IGNOU or DEC.

The candidates must have acquired the educational requirements by 1^st of January 2012.

Application fees:              Rs. 100 for general category of candidates, which will not be applicable for Women, SC/ ST, OBC and Minority Communities as well as Ex-Servicemen.

Mode of Payment of Fees:          For Offline Applications – through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS) available at major post offices across India.

For Online Applications – only through State Bank of India (through Challan or through Net banking)

Fees in any other mode will not be accepted

Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

Mode of Application:         Online as well as Offline only

Important dates:             Opening date for acceptance of application: 14^th July 2012

Closing date of receipt of application: 10^th of August 2012

Closing date for candidates of far-flung areas: 17^th August 2012

Opening date for Online Application: 14^th July 2012

Closing date for Online Application: till 8^th of August 2012 for Part-I of registration and till 10^th August for Part-II of registration.

Date of examination: 21^st of August and 28^th of August 2012

Reservation:                    The reservation for scheduled category will be as per government norms and candidates are liable to serve at any part of the country under AISL (All India Service Liability)

Nationality:                     A candidate must be an Indian citizen to apply for the posts.

Selection Pattern:

The selection of candidates will be through a common written examination followed by a skill test for Data Entry Operator and for a typing test for Lower Division Clerk positions respectively. There will be negative marking in the written examination and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Written Examination:

Part I: General Intelligence – 50 questions of 50 Marks

Part II: English Language (Basic Knowledge) – 50 questions of 50 Marks

Part III: Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) – 50 questions of 50 Marks

Part IV: General Awareness – 50 questions of 50 Marks

Note:

Total duration of exam for General candidate is of two hours from 10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon.

Total duration of exam for VH candidate is of two hours and twenty minutes from 10.00 AM to 12.20 Noon.

Skill test (for DEO): 8000 key depression per hour.

Typing test (for LDC): 35 wpm for English typing and 30 wpm for Hindi typing

Pay scale:                        For LDC: Pay Band –I at Rs.1900

For Data Entry Operator: Pay Bank of Rs.2400 and Rs.1900 (as per selection criteria)

Identity verification:        The candidates are advised to carry a valid photo identity proof along with them during examinations. This ID could be Voter ID, Driving License, PAN card or any such other card.

“D” – Data Entry Operator (Pay Scale Rs.2400)

“E” – Data Entry Operator (Pay Scale less than Rs.2400)
