The Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) exam is a test undertaken by students who wish to gain admission to all the Post-Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University. But it is only the first step in that direction. The selection process of the desired institute has to be cleared in order to qualify for the final admission.
The Symbiosis International University has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). NAAC is an autonomous body of the UGC. It has been rated among the best Management and Post Graduate Institutes in India.
The eligibility requirement for the examination is that the candidate should be minimum 21 years of age. He should have completed his graduation in any discipline form a recognized university and should have got at least 50% marks in the final exam. International students also have the option to sit in this exam.
The registration process:
The process for registering for the test is extremely simple. All the student needs to do is to register online at the official website. A latest photograph of the candidate is needed for this purpose. The candidate has to fill the form and then he can decide from among the various options of payment of the form fee. Form fees can be paid through cash, demand draft, net banking or credit card. After all the necessary formalities have been completed then the candidate can get his admit card printed. The test is conducted in a total of thirty cities all over India. Although the candidate can request for the centre of examination according to their choice, yet the final decision rests on the examination conducting body.
The students have to take great care while filling the form. The information provided should be fully correct and valid.
The exam time schedule:
Usually the SNAP Exam is held in the month of December and the results are out by January. The forms are available in the month of November.
The structure of examination:
The structure of the exam is such that the question paper is divided into four parts and the candidate is given the maximum time of two hours to answer the question paper. The four sections are Analytical Reasoning, General Awareness, General English and Quantitative.
The examination also has negative marking so the candidates have to be very careful. Every wrong answer will get 25% negative marks. The total marks that can be scored in 180.
Lately, with effect from this very year, two new exams have been added for non-MBA courses. The first one is SIMC-MMC (this one is for the Pune campus only). The other one is the SIG- M.Sc. (Geo-Informatics). The structure of these exams varies slightly from the SNAP Test.
