SAIL Recruitment 2014 for Attendant-cum-Technician & Operator-cum-Technician at IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur

With the recent notification from IISCO Steel Plant, one of its integrated Steel Plants of SAIL, at Burnpur, West Bengal, SAIL invites competent applications from individuals to join this versatile workforce as an Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation), Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee), Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation) and Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee) in various grades.

Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): 09 Positions (UR-02, SC-03, ST-01, and OBC-03 and out of which PWD-01)
Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): 05 positions (UR-02, SC-02, and OBC-01)
Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): 290 positions (UR-95, SC-138, ST-09, and OBC-48 out of which Ex-Sm-29 and PWD-08 positions). This includes 96 backlog vacancies for SC and 08 backlog vacancies for OBC candidates.

Pay Scale Provisions:
- Operator-cum-Technician: The selected applicants will be eligible for a scale pay in the range of Rs.9160-Rs.13150 in the S-3 Grade.
- Attendant-cum-Technician: The selected applicants will be eligible for a scale pay in the range of Rs.8630-Rs.12080 in the S-1 Grade.
- Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): The selected applicants will be eligible for a stipend of Rs.10700 per month in the first year of their training and Rs.12200 in the second year of their training period. After successful completion they will be eligible to receive a scale pay in the range of Rs.9160-Rs.13150 in the S-3 Grade.
- Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): The selected applicants will be eligible for a stipend of Rs.8600 per month in the first year of their training and Rs.10000 in the second year of their training period. After successful completion they will be eligible to receive a scale pay in the range of Rs.8630-Rs.12080 in the S-1 Grade.
- Other allowances and perks will be applicable for candidates after regular joining in the posts.
Academic Requirements:
- Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): The applicants must have completed Matriculation along with 3 years full time Diploma in Engineering. They must have at least 2nd Class or 1st Class Certificate of Boiler Competency.
- Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): The applicants must have completed Matriculation along with ITI. They must have at least 2nd Class Certificate of Boiler Competency.
- Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): The applicants should have completed Matriculation along with 3 years full time Diploma in Engineering in Automobile/ Ceramics/ Chemical/ Civil/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Instrumentation/ Mechanical/ Metallurgy/ Production discipline.
- Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): The applicants should have completed Matriculation along with ITI (full-time) in Air-conditioning & Refrigeration/ Draughtsman (Civil)/ Draughtsman (Mechanical)/ Electrician/ Electronics Mechanic/ Fitter/ Machinist/ Mechanic Motor Vehicle/ Mechanic Diesel/ Turner/ Welder trade disciplines.
- Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee)- Dumper Operation: The applicants should have completed Matriculation with Heavy Duty Vehicle Driving License and having at least one year experience in operation of Dumpers.
Age Criteria (as on 01-Jun-2014):
- Operator-cum-Technician/ Attendant-cum-Technician: The applicant should be within 18-30 years of age as on 1-Jun-2014.
- Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)/ Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): The applicant should be within 18-28 years of age as on 1-Jun-2014.
Note: However, relaxation in upper age will be applicable for the SC, ST, OBC, PWD and Ex-SM candidates as per rules.
Application Fee:
- For General and OBC category applying for Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation) and Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): Rs.250
- For General and OBC category applying for Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation) and Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): Rs.150
- For SC/ ST/ PWD: Rs.50
- The fee can be paid through SBI cash deposit challan form as can be downloaded from the website of SAIL at //www.sail.co.in
- The fee is to be paid to the SBI Power Jyoti A/c No -31932241266 maintained at SBI, Burnpur, West Bengal on behalf of IISCO Steel Plant, SAIL.
- No other mode of fee payment will be accepted.
Training Period:
- The applicants selected for the Trainee profiles will be inducted in a Training Duration expanding over a minimum of 2 years. This may be further expanded if desired by SAIL.
- After successful completion of the training period the candidates will be inducted as technicians in the same scale of S-3/ S-1 and will be placed under a probation for a period of 1 year from the date of completion of training/ Joining in the regular post.

- One candidate can submit only One Application.
- The candidates need to have their photograph and signature scanned for uploading during online registration
- A valid email ID is mandatory for registering online
- The candidates need to take the Printout of the fee deposit challan and pay their application fees to the SBI account mentioned in any branch of SBI and upload the details in the same website.
- Wrong and misleading information may subject to disqualification of candidature
- Candidates applying for the post of Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation) and Attendant-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation) are required to send their downloaded on-line registration slip along with documents in support of their Qualifications, Caste, Age, Certificate of Boiler Competency and ISP’s copy of the Bank Challan to the following address so as to reach by the date specified (21-July-2014) otherwise, their candidature will be cancelled.
