Rajasthan State Teacher Eligibility Test 2013-14 for Engagement of Teachers in Primary and Secondary Levels

The Government of India has confirmed that Right of Child for Compulsory and Free Primary Education is a vital requirement and accordingly has framed certain guidelines to ensure the Right of the Child. According to this announcement, the GOI envisages to maintain uniform standards of education in all levels of education in the country. The candidates, who will be joining as teachers, should possess minimum academic qualifications and must obtain required eligibility through a comprehensive eligibility test specifically conducted for the purpose of obtaining eligibility for appointment as teachers. Accordingly NCTE (national Council for Teacher Education), New Delhi has laid down norms for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for each state.

In line with this decision from the NCTE, each State conducts their specific State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The Rajasthan State Secondary Education Board has been entrusted to act as the permanent Nodal Agency and conduct TET for ensuring selection of competent candidates for Teaching Jobs in schools at two basic standards of education (i.e. Class-I to Class-V and Class-VI to Class-VIII).

The details of the criteria for the Application for RTET-2013 are as follows:

Important Dates:

  • Date of publication of advertisement: 24-Oct-2013
  • Starting date for Submission of Online Application at website: 24-Oct-2013
  • Final date for Submission of Online Application: 18-Nov-2013
  • Date for submission of application fees and receipt of token numbers at E-Mitra Kiosks/ CSCs: 24-Oct-2013 till 17-Nov-2013
  • Availability of Admit Card: 21-Dec-2013 onwards
  • Date of examination: 29-December-2013

Structure of Examination:

There will be two papers of the TET.

  • Paper I: For a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V
  • Paper II: For a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII

Note: Any person who intends to be a teacher either for classes I to V or for classes VI to VIII will have to appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II) separately and appear examinations separately.

Academic Eligibility:

For would be Teachers of Class-I to Class-V:        

  • Candidates should have secured Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) / OR / Should have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) / OR / should have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / OR / should have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) / OR / should have completed Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

For would be Teachers of Class-VI to Class-VIII:

  • Candidates should have secured Graduation and passed or appearing in final of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) / OR / Should have completed Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) / OR / should have completed Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) / OR / should have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / OR / should have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc.Ed. / OR / should have completed Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

Age Limit:

  • No upper age limit

Number of Attempts:

  • Candidates are free to apply as many times as they want. No such restrictions imposed.

Application Fees:

  • For Level-I (Class-I to Class-V): Rs.400 (for any one paper)
  • For Level-II (Class-VI to Class-VIII): Rs.600 (for both papers)

How to Pay the Application Fees:

  • The application fees can only be paid in shape cash deposit at any e-Mitra Kiosks/ CSCs in the state before one day of last date for submission of completed application.
  • Fee submitted through any other mode like Money Order, Demand Draft, IPO etc. will be summarily rejected.

How to Apply:

  • The candidates who fulfill the eligibility Criteria are required to apply ONLINE through the website of the Rajasthan Examinations at //examrtet.rajasthan.gov.in/
  • Before applying online, candidates are advised to go through detailed notification available at the above website at //examrtet.rajasthan.gov.in/Documents/Vigyapti-RTET-2013.pdf
  • The candidates need to fill all relevant columns and upload his photo and signature at appropriate spaces on Online Application
  • Incomplete application forms will be rejected
  • After completion of Online Application, the candidates need complete the check-list attached with the application form and sign at appropriate spaces
  • The Application Form and other documents should be enclosed in an envelope and should be super-scribed with the post applying for before depositing them at the Nodal Centers as detailed by the Office of the Coordinator, RTET-2013.

Special Note:

  • The candidates are advised to read through the complete application bulletin and then fill up the application form
  • It is compulsory for the candidate to appear in all papers. The candidate who does not appear in any paper will not be permitted to appear in the next paper.
  • Application form received after closing date will not be entertained
  • Only blue ball point pen should be used to mark the answers in the OMR sheet.
