With the recent notification, the Punjab Pollution Control Board, Govt. of Punjab is inviting competent candidates for engagement of various vacancies under 11 different categories of Posts in the department. Pay Scale:
- Assistant Environmental Engineer (Post No.1 & 2): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.5400 along with other allowances.
- Assistant Scientific Officer (Post no.3): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.10300 – Rs.34800 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.5000 along with other allowances.
- Junior Scientific Officer (Post no.4): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.10300 – Rs.34800 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.4200 along with other allowances.
- Junior Environmental Engineer (Post no.5): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.10300 – Rs.34800 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.4800 along with other allowances.
- Scientific Assistant, Clerk (Accounts), Steno-Typist & Clerk-cum-Data Entry Operator (Post No.6, 7, 8, 9): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.10300 – Rs.34800 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.3200 along with other allowances.
- Project Associate (On Contract): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a consolidated remuneration in the scale of Rs.20000 per month without any other allowances.
Education & Academics (by 05-Nov-2014):
- Assistant Environmental Engineer (Post No.1): The candidates must have completed Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology Degree in Civil/ Chemical / Environmental Engineering in first division. Must have Experience in pollution control. Preference will be given to candidates having Master’s Degree in Engineering (Public Health/ Chemical / Environmental)
- Assistant Environmental Engineer – Computers (Post No.2): The candidates must have completed Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering in first division.
- Assistant Scientific Officer (Post no.3): The candidates must have completed Post Graduate Degree in first class in Basic Science or Life Science or Microbiology or Meteorology or Environment Science or any other related Science from recognized University with at least five years’ experience as Junior Scientific Officer or an equivalent post.
- Junior Scientific Officer (Post no.4): The candidates must have completed 1st Class Master’s Degree in Life Science or Basic Science or Environment Science or Biotechnology or Hydrology or Microbiology or any other related Sciences from a recognized University / Institute with at least three years’ experience.
- Junior Environmental Engineer (Post no.5): The candidates must have completed At least 1st class in three years Diploma in Civil / Environmental or Chemical Engineering
- Scientific Assistant (Post no.6): The candidates must have completed at least B.Sc. Degree or M.Sc. Degree in Basic Science or Life Science or Environmental Science or Microbiology.
- Clerk (Accounts) (Post no.7): The candidates must have completed at least 2nd Class Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from a recognized university and should have at least two years working experience on computers. Preference will be given to persons having experience in Accounts Work.
- Steno-Typist (Post no.8): The candidates must have completed Graduation and from a recognized University or Institution and should have qualified a test in Punjabi Stenography to be held by the Board or the appointing authority at a speed of 80 wpm in Punjabi Shorthand and 60 wpm in English Shorthand and to be transcribed at the speed of 15 wpm.
- Clerk-cum-Data Entry Operator (Post No.9): The candidates must have completed Graduation from a recognized University or Institution and should have qualified a test in Punjabi & English typewriting at the speed of 30 words per minute either on computer or on manual or electronic typewriter.
- Project Associate (On Contract): The candidates must have completed Master’s Degree in life Sciences or Chemistry or Environmental science from recognized university / Institution with at least two years working experience in the field of Environment.
- Project Associate- Microbiologist (On Contract): The candidates must have completed Master’s Degree in Microbiology from a recognized University / Institution with at least two years working experience in the field of Microbiology.
- All Applicants must have Proficiency in computer operation.
- The candidate should have passed Punjabi Language subject up to Matriculation standard.
Age as on 01-Jan-2014:
- A candidate must not have crossed 38 years of age and should be over 18 years to be eligible to apply.
- However upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST and other reserved category of candidates of Punjab as per the norms of the state.

- The fees can be remitted through the system generated Pay-in-Slip in any branch of State Bank of Patiala by next working day after submission of application.

Mode of Selection:
- The select list of the candidates will be done through a Written Test, Typing test, Shorthand Test and an Interview as scheduled.
