PPSC Recruitment Advertisement No 2022103 – Punjab Civil Service Judicial Branch Exam 2022

Punjab Public Service Commission invites applications from interested and eligible candidates for the posts of Civil Judge (Junior Division) Cum Judicial Magistrate through Punjab Civil Service (Judicial Branch) Examination 2022-2023 to be conducted jointly by the Punjab Public Service Commission and Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana.

159 Posts of Civil Judge (Junior Division) cum Judicial Magistrate in the scale of pay Rs. 27,700-44,700/-.

Important Dates:
Last Date for Submission of Online Application: 10-October-2022
Last date for depositing the Application Fee by using the print out of system generated Fee Challan Form: 17-October-2022

Age Limit:Candidate should not be below 21 years and above 37 years of age on 10-October-2022. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per government rules.

Educational Qualification Criteria: As on 10-October-2022

Candidates must possess Degree of Bachelor of Law of any University incorporated by Law in India, and have studied Punjabi of Matriculation or its equivalent Standard. Candidates should have completed Punjabi up to Matriculation or its equivalent Standard.

Selection Process: Selection process will be based on Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Viva Voce.

The Preliminary Examination shall be of objective type questions with multiple choices.

The question paper for the Preliminary examination shall be of two hours duration, it shall consist of 125 questions and each question shall carry 04 marks. For every question for which a wrong answer 1/5th marks shall be deducted. There will, however, be no negative marking for un-attempted questions.

Candidates must secures minimum 150 marks (100 marks for all reserved category candidates) in the Preliminary Examination out of 500 marks in order to be eligible for appear in Mains Exam.

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination shall not be counted towards final result.

Main Written Examination shall be of subjective type of five papers. Each written paper shall be of three hours duration. Papers I to IV shall carry 200 marks each. Paper V shall carry 150 marks out of which 100 marks shall be for essay writing and 50 marks for language and grammar.

Paper-I (Civil Law) of 200 Marks COVERING Code of Civil Procedure, Punjab Courts Act, Indian Contract
Act, Indian Sales of Goods Act, Indian partnership Act, Specific Relief Act, Transfer of Property Act 1882, East
Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act 1949 and Indian Evidence Act 1872.

Paper-II (Civil Law) of 200 Marks COVERING Hindu Law, Mohammedan Law and Customary Law, Law of
Registration and Limitation.

Paper-III (Criminal Law) of 200 Marks COVERING Indian Penal code, Criminal Procedure Code and Indian
Evidence Act.

Paper-IV (English Language) of 200 Marks COVERING English Essay (1000-1100) words, Precis, Words and Phrases (make sentences of the given words and phrases), Comprehension, Corrections.

Paper-V (Punjabi Language) of 150 Marks COVERING Punjabi in Gurmukhi Script. [The minimum qualifying marks in the language paper Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) shall be 33%.]

The Viva-Voce shall carry 100 marks and final result shall be prepared on the basis of the Grand Total of the marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Written Examination and the Viva-Voce.

Application Fees:
Rs. 500/- for Ex-Servicemen of Punjab state only. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Persons with
Disabilities (PWD) and Lineal Descendants of Ex-Serviceman (LDESM) Punjab.
Rs. 750/- for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab State only.
Rs. 1500/- for All Other Categories i.e., General, Sports Persons of Punjab and Wards of Freedom Fighters, Punjab.
Application fee and examination fee will be accepted via online mode only.
