Minimum Qualification Required:
Junior Overman: The candidate must possess Diploma in Mining Engineering of three years duration from recognized Institute, Valid Overman’s certificate of competency from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 1957 or any other certificate in Mining which entitle to work as Overman as per Coal Mines Regulation 1957, Valid Gas Testing Certificate and Valid First Aid Certificate.
Mining Sirdar: The candidate must have passed Matriculate or equivalent exam from any recognized Board of Exam and possess Valid Mining Sirdar certificate of competency from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 1957 or any other certificate in Mining which entitle to work as Mining Sirdar as per Coal Mines Regulation 1957, Valid Gas Testing Certificate and Valid First Aid Certificate.
Age Limit As on date of Notification: Minimum age limit is 18 years and Maximum age limit is 35 years. However, relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per government rules.
Remuneration: Rs. 19035.02/- per month
Mode of Selection: The candidate will be selected based on the Written test.

Northern Coalfields Limited was incorporated in 1984 as a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. Earlier it was one of the subsidiaries of Central Coalfields Limited. One of the major producers of coal in India NCL has its headquarters at Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the top public limited units and has been awarded with the title of Miniratna by government of India. This company works under the compliance of ISO 9001:2000 certification that was awarded to the company in December, 2008. It is also planning to prepare an integrated management system which will work in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and SA 8000 standards.
NCL is engaged in operating 10 coal mines namely Amlohri, Block-B, Bina, Dudhichua, Jayant, Jhingurdah, Kakri, Khadia, Krishnashila and Nigahi. These coal mines are spread in entire region of Singrauli. NCL is estimated to have produced about 69.62 million of coal till 2009. Though it produces coal through opencast mines but NCL is also committed towards the environmental protection. It has greatly contributed towards the protection and development of environment by establishing the integrated management system based on various standards. With help of its community development program it has also contributed towards the betterment of quality of life, self employment schemes, helping local tribes, providing health care and education.
Apart from these community services it is also working towards the development of human resources with help of its training programs. NCL is involved in incorporating sophisticated machines and imparts training to its employees in order to fill performance gaps. Central Excavation Training School at Singrauli provides various trainings like basic courses for technician and operators, refresher courses, computer learning programs, supervisory development programs, seminar and workshops on technical issues. Mostly the recruitment takes place on the basis of written test.
