MP High Court Recruitment 2014 for 883 Posts of Assistant (Grade-III), Stenographer (Grade-II), Stenographer (Grade-III)
With the recent announcement, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has notified for recruiting various profiles of Stenographer (Grade-II), Stenographer (Grade-III), Assistant (Grade-III-English Noting), and Assistant (Grade-III) in various district courts, State Legal Service Authority and High Court of Madhya Pradesh. These posts will be recruited through direct and open recruitment from competent candidates.
Originally created as Central Province, the State of Madhya Pradesh retains the glory of being the largest state in terms of area in the country. With the formation of this State after the independence of India, the state is offered a judiciary jurisdiction with a High Court having the state as the area of operation. The High Court of Madhya Pradesh was formed in November 1956, which was operating as Nagpur High Court in the pre-independence era. With this reformation, the state of Madhya Pradesh retained a jurisdiction that controls the entire state with its primary objective of offering a judiciary system in accordance with the legal system in India. The High Court at present is operating with 27 numbers of permanent judges and 12 additional judges for maintaining the legal system in the state. The High Court is also having numerous support staff to help in coordinating various operations.

Details of Vacant Positions:
- Stenographer (Grade-II) in District Courts: 97 Posts (UR-42, OBC-10, SC-07, ST-38)
- Stenographer (Grade-III) in District Courts: 113 Posts (UR-56, OBC-07, SC-14, ST-36)
- Assistant (Grade-III-English Noting) in District Courts: 25 Posts (UR)
- Assistant (Grade-III) in High Court: 45 Posts (UR-16, OBC-05, SC-05, ST-19)
- Assistant (Grade-III) in State Legal Service Authority: 23 Posts (UR-09, OBC-02, SC-04, ST-08)
- Assistant (Grade-III) in District Courts: 580 Posts (UR-291, OBC-73, SC-90, ST-126)
NOTE: Any applicant from SC/ST/OBC category, who is not a resident of Madhya Pradesh, will be treated as a General/ Unreserved category automatically and no claim for any sort of relaxation of norms will be entertained for such a candidate.
There will be reservation for PWD candidates as per rules.
Academic Eligibility:
- Stenographer (Grade-II): The candidates must have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) with Hindi Typing Course from a recognized University/ Institution. The candidates should have Hindi Shorthand Speed of 100 wpm and should have completed Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent. Should have knowledge of English Typing/ Shorthand along with Computer Hardware and Software.
- Stenographer (Grade-III): The candidates must have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) with Hindi Typing Course from a recognized University/ Institution. The candidates should have Hindi Shorthand Speed of 80 wpm and should have completed Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent. Should have knowledge of English Typing/ Stenography along with Computer Hardware and Software.
- Assistant (Grade-III-English Noting): The candidates must have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) with English/Hindi Typing Course from a recognized University/ Institution. The candidates should have English Shorthand Speed of 80 wpm and should have completed Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent. Should have knowledge of Hindi Stenography.
- Assistant (Grade-III) in High Court: The candidates must have completed Graduation in any discipline with English/Hindi Typing Course from a recognized University/ Institution. The candidates should have completed Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent. Should have knowledge of Date Entry.
- Assistant (Grade-III) in State Legal Service Authority: The candidates must have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) with Hindi Typing Course from a recognized University/ Institution. The candidates should have completed Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent. Should have knowledge of English Typing/ Stenography along with Computer Hardware and Software.
- Assistant (Grade-III) in District Courts: The candidates must have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) with Hindi Typing Course from a recognized University/ Institution. The candidates should have completed Diploma in Computer Application or equivalent. Should have knowledge of English Typing/ Stenography along with Computer Hardware and Software.
- The candidates must have good character antecedents.
Age Requirement:
- The applicant must have obtained an age of 18 years and should not have exceeded maximum age of 35 years as on 01-Jan-2014 to be eligible to apply.
- However, relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per norms only for the permanent natives of Madhya Pradesh only.
- Other state candidates will not be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit.
Application Fees:
- For SC/ST and other reserved category for the State of MP: Rs.600 (Portal charges)
- For all Unreserved/ Other state candidates: Rs.800 (Portal Charges-Rs.600 + Examination Fee-Rs.200)
- The fee can be remitted through Online mode or by cash at MPOnline Kiosks
Mode of selection:
- There will be a Preliminary Written Test, Followed by Main Examination (Written), Skill Test and Interview for the candidates for selection of these posts.
- The final selection will base on the performance in the Interview sessions.
