The Meghalaya Public Service Commission as one of the most respectable state level public service commission is in charge of recruiting various competent candidates for various profiles of positions under the government departments of Meghalaya.
With the recent notification, the Meghalaya PSC invites competent candidates for recruitment in various positions under the Govt. of Meghalaya. The details of the vacancies and the recruitment profiles are mentioned as under:
Details of posts and corresponding requirements:
Assistant Engineer (C):
- Department: Public Health Department
- No. of posts: 6 numbers
- Pay Scale: Rs.17000 – Rs.33690 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Graduate in Civil Engineering from any recognized University
- Age: Should be within 18 -27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Junior Duty Posts:
- Department: Civil Defense & Home Guard Services
- No. of posts: 4 numbers
- Pay Scale: Rs.17000 – Rs.33690 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Graduate in Arts, Commerce, and Science from any recognized University
- Age: Should be within 18 -27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Lecturer in Government Colleges:
- Department: Education Department
- No. of posts: 38 numbers (Education-4, Garo-10, Commerce-1, Computer-1, Pol. Sc.-8, History-6, Economics-8)
- Pay Scale: Rs.17000 – Rs.33690 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Honors in the respective subjects at first Degree level and cleared NET. PhD holders are exempted from NET
- Age: Should be within 30 years max. as on 1st of January 2012
Mining Officer:
- Department: Mining & Geology Department
- No. of posts: 1 number
- Pay Scale: Rs.17000 – Rs.33690 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering
- Age: Should be within 21-27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Assistant Geologist:
- Department: Mining & Geology Department
- No. of posts: 4 numbers
- Pay Scale: Rs.17000 – Rs.33690 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Masters Degree in Geology
- Age: Should be within 21-27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Drilling Engineer:
- Department: Mining & Geology Department
- No. of posts: 1 number

- Academics: Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering OR Geology with Diploma in Mining Engineering
- Age: Should be within 21-27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Social Studies Instructor:
- Department: Labor Department
- No. of posts: 2 numbers
- Pay Scale: Rs.14100 – Rs.27510 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology or Social Works
- Age: Should be within 18-27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Labor Inspector:
- Department: Labor Department
- No. of posts: 39 numbers
- Pay Scale: Rs.14100 – Rs.27510 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Graduate in Arts, Science or Commerce from recognized university
- Age: Should be within 18-27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Research Assistant:
- Department: Economics and Statistics Department
- No. of posts: 4 numbers
- Pay Scale: Rs.14100 – Rs.27510 (Other allowances as applicable)
- Academics: Graduate in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Commerce from any recognized university
- Age: Should be within 18-27 years as on 1st of January 2012
Reservation: As per Government policy, where the vacancies are 09 or less than 09 all posts are reserved in favor of specified communities
Important Dates:
- Date of publication of this notification and starting date for receipt of application: 21st of August 2012
- Last date for sending completed application form in all respect: 21st of September 2012
- Last date for Online application: 21st of September 2012 till 23:59 hours
Application Fees:
- For Post No.1-6: Rs. 350
- For Post No.7-9: Rs.320
- For SC/ ST/ PWD candidates these fees will be reduced by half
- The application fee can be remitted in shape of MPSC Fee Payment challan only
- The original Challan need to be attached with the application form

How to Submit the Application Form:
Off-line Mode:
a) The Applications completed in all respect can be deposited at:
- Office Counter of MPSC, Office, Headquarter, Shillong
- MPSC Cell at Tura, Nongstoin, Jowai, Baghmara & Williamnagar
(On any working day between 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM till the last date)
b) Applications can also be sent by registered post so as to reach the Commission’s office at Shillong not later than the last date prescribed.
On-line Mode:
Applicants may also apply online through the MPSC website at www.mpsc.nic.in. Last date for on-line applications is 23:59 Hrs on 21st of September, 2012.
Important Note:
- For any other details regarding clarification of some points for this application, candidates can log in to the Meghalaya PSC website at www.mpsc.nic.in
- All applications are to be accompanied by the proof of payment of fee and an envelope of 4 cms x 9 cms with a postage stamp of Rs 5/- affixed.
- Division and percentage of marks should be clearly mentioned in the application form.
- Candidates will appear in the written test and the interview on their own expenses.
- Last date of receipt of application forms – 21st of September, 2012
- Any form of wrong or misleading information will subject to cancellation of candidature
- The decision of the Meghalaya PSC will be final and binding on the candidates
