Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited  (MECL)  was established as an autonomous Public Sector Company in 1972, under the administrative control of Ministry of Mines, Government of India for systematic exploration of minerals, to bridge the gap between the initial discovery of a prospect and its eventual exploitation. With a Mission to provide high quality, cost effective and time bound geo-scientific services for exploration and exploitation of minerals, MECL has completed over 1264 projects/reports. It has established 149034 Million Tonnes of ores/ mineral reserves of minerals like Coal, Lignite, Bauxite, Copper, Gold, Lead-Zinc, Iron Ore, Limestone, Manganese, Magnesite, Chromite, Fluorspar and several other Industrial Minerals since inception till June 2013. It has also carried out exploration for Coal Bed Methane. It has recently diversified into mining and beneficiation of minerals, Production well drilling for CBM and sampling & analysis of coal stocks.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria for various cadres of positions at Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd, Nagpur.

The category-wise vacancies and requisite criteria for selection are as indicated below:

Important Dates:

  • Date of Publication of Notification: 18-June-2014
  • Opening date for online registration and submission of Application: 23-June-2014

Details of the Job Positions:       

Manager (Drilling): 03 Posts (UR-02, OBC-NCL-01)

    • Pay Scale: E4 in the range of Rs.29100- Rs.54500
    • Academics: B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Mechanical Engineering) with first division and with minimum 65% marks
    • Experience: Minimum 10 Years Experience in core drilling out of which at least 3 years should be at a grade next below
    • Max Age: 45 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application.

Manager (P&A): 02 Posts (UR)

    • Pay Scale: E4 in the range of Rs.29100- Rs.54500
    • Academics: Graduate with Full-time Degree/ Diploma in Personal Management/ Industrial Relation with 1st Division with minimum 65% marks OR, equivalent qualification in HR/IR disciplines
    • Experience: Minimum 10 Years experience in executive level in Personal Management/ Industrial Relations out of which 3 years should be in the next below grade
    • Max Age: 45 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Manager (Finance): 01 Posts (OBC-NCL)

    • Pay Scale: E4 in the range of Rs.29100- Rs.54500
    • Academics: Must be a CA/ ICWA
    • Experience: Minimum 10 Years experience in executive level in different areas of Finance and Accounting out of which 3 years should be in the next below grade
    • Max Age: 45 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Assistant Manager (Drilling): 03 Posts (UR-02, OBC-NCL-01)

    • Pay Scale: E3 in the range of Rs.24900- Rs.50500
    • Academics: B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Mechanical Engineering) with first division and with minimum 65% marks
    • Experience: Minimum 6 Years Experience in core drilling out of which at least 1 year should be in the next below level.
    • Max Age: 40 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Assistant Manager (Finance): 02 Posts (UR-01, PH-01)

    • Pay Scale: E3 in the range of Rs.24900- Rs.50500
    • Academics: Must be a CA/ ICWA
    • Experience: Minimum 06 Years experience in executive level in different areas of Finance and Accounting out of which 1 years should be in the next below grade
    • Max Age: 40 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Assistant Manager (Chemical): 01 Post (UR)

    • Pay Scale: E3 in the range of Rs.24900- Rs.50500
    • Academics: M.Sc in Chemistry with first division (65% marks)
    • Experience: 6 Years of Executive Experience in analysis of rocks, ores, coals, mineral using instrumentation methods like ICP, XRD, XRF and out of which at least 1 year should be in the next below grade
    • Max Age: 40 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Assistant Manager (Chemical) (Mud Technology): 01 Post (UR)

    • Pay Scale: E3 in the range of Rs.24900- Rs.50500
    • Academics: M.Sc in Chemistry with first division (65% marks)
    • Experience: 6 Years of Executive Experience in mud sampling/ mud analysis for exploratory drilling and analysis of rocks, ores, coals, mineral using instrumentation methods like ICP, XRD, XRF and out of which at least 1 year should be in the next below grade. Experience in working in a Mineral/ coal testing laboratory.
    • Max Age: 40 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Assistant Officer (Business Development & Planning): 02 Post (UR-1, OBC-NCL-01)

    • Pay Scale: E0 in the range of Rs.12600- Rs.32500
    • Academics: MBA (Marketing)/ PG Diploma in Management with specialization in Marketing with Minimum 60% marks
    • Experience: 2 Years of Executive Experience in a responsible position in Government organization/ PSU
    • Max Age: 30 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Foreman (Drilling): 39 Post (UR-22, OBC-NCL-10, SC-5, ST-2)

    • Pay Scale: W7 in the range of Rs.9500- Rs.24800
    • Academics: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Drilling Engineering with First Division and Minimum 60% marks.
    • Experience – One year post diploma experience/ training in drilling industries (desirable)
    • Max Age: 30 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Technical Assistant (S&D): 07 Posts (UR-03, OBC-NCL-02, SC-01, ST-01)

    • Pay Scale: W7 in the range of Rs.9500- Rs.24800
    • Academics: University Degree in Mathematics with 4 years experience, OR, Diploma in Surveying/ Draftsmanship (Civil) with AutoCAD knowledge OR, equivalent Post-Matriculation qualification (ITI) as a Surveyor with 5 years of experience. Preference will be offered to experience in Mineral Exploration/ Geological Mapping/ Cartography.
    • Max Age: 30 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Technician (Drilling): 38 Posts (UR-19, OBC-NCL-10, SC-6, ST-3)

    • Pay Scale: W4 in the range of Rs.8500- Rs.18600
    • Academics: Matriculation with ITI/ Trade Certificate in Mechanic/ Earthmoving Machinery (EMM)/ Diesel Mechanic/ Motor Mechanic/ Fitter trade.
    • Experience: 3 year post qualification experience in drilling industries
    • Max Age: 30 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Mechanic (Motor/ Diesel Mechanic Trade): 50 Posts (UR-25, OBC-NCL-14, SC-8, ST-3)

    • Pay Scale: W4 in the range of Rs.8500- Rs.18600
    • Academics: Matriculation with ITI/ Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanic/ Motor Mechanic/ Fitter trade.
    • Experience: 3 year post qualification experience in as a Diesel/ Motor mechanic or Fitter
    • Max Age: 30 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Driver: 10 Posts (UR-07, OBC-NCL-02, SC-01)

    • Pay Scale: W4 in the range of Rs.8500- Rs.18600
    • Academics: Matriculation with a valid Driving License for Light/ Heavy Motor Vehicles.
    • Experience: 4 years of experience in driving Light/ Heavy Motor Vehicles in Hilly terrain and rough roads.
    • Max Age: 30 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Stenographer: 04 Posts (UR-2, OBC-NCL-1, PH-01)

    • Pay Scale – W4 in the range of Rs.8500- Rs.18600
    • Academics: Graduate in any stream with English as a subject and shorthand and typing speed of 100 and 50 w.p.m. typing on computer –
    • Experience: 2 years’ experience in Stenography. Persons working as a stenographer and with knowledge of Hindi Typing will be preferred
    • Max Age: 30 years as on last date of Online Registration of Application

Note:

  • Relaxation in upper age limit for respective reserved categories will be applicable as per norms.
  • Other allowances and perks will be applicable as per the MECL norms.

Application fees:

  • The fees are payable in shape of a crossed (Account Payee) Demand Draft of Rs.100/- (One hundred only) as application fee (non-refundable) in favour of Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd. and payable at Nagpur.
  • The name and application number of the applicants need to be written on the reverse side of the Demand Draft
  • No other mode of payment shall be accepted.
  • SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen/ PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fee

Mode of Selection:

  • Selection would be based on written test, trade test (as applicable) and personal interview. The candidates will have to pass successfully through each stage of the selection process including medical fitness for being selected
