Maharashtra State Electricity (MahaVitaran) Recruitment 2014 for Senior Management Positions

As the biggest Power Distribution Company of India and having over 1.96 Crores consumers and dedicated pool of over 70,000 employees with Annual Revenue of over Rupees 34,000 Crore, Maha Vitaran (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) is working as a dedicated service provider for Electricity Distribution and maintenance of Electrical Infrastructure.

With the present initiative from Maha Vitaran, a notice has been served for induction of 12 Senior Management positions in the capacity of Chief Engineer (Distribution), Superintending Engineer (Distribution), General Manager (HR), Assistant General Manager (HR), General Manager (F&A) & Assistant General Manager (F&A) in its team of operation.

The details of the vacancies and the criteria for eligibility to participate in this recruitment are detailed as under:

Number of Vacancies and Nature of Posts:

  • Job Code-CED – Chief Engineer (Distribution): 03 Posts (Open-02, SC-01)
  • Job Code-SEC – Superintendent Engineer (Distribution): 04 Posts (Open-02, ST-01 & NTC-01)
  • Job Code-GMHR – General Manager (HR): 01 Post (Open)
  • Job Code-AGMHR – Assistant General Manager (HR): 01 Post (Open)
  • Job Code-GMFA – General Manager (F&A): 02 Posts (Open-01, SC-01)
  • Job Code-AGMFA – Assistant General Manager (F&A): 01 Post (ST)

Remuneration:

  • Chief Engineer (Distribution): The candidates selected for the positions will receive remuneration in the range of Rs.45900 – Rs.88800 with other allowances and perks as applicable.
  • Superintendent Engineer (Distribution): The candidates selected for the positions will receive remuneration in the range of Rs.35875 – Rs.79510 with other allowances and perks as applicable.
  • General Manager (HR): The candidates selected for the positions will receive remuneration in the range of Rs.40790 – Rs.83750 with other allowances and perks as applicable.
  • Assistant General Manager (HR): The candidates selected for the positions will receive remuneration in the range of Rs.33575 – Rs.74490 with other allowances and perks as applicable.
  • General Manager (F&A): The candidates selected for the positions will receive remuneration in the range of Rs.40790 – Rs.83750 with other allowances and perks as applicable.
  • Assistant General Manager (F&A): The candidates selected for the positions will receive remuneration in the range of Rs.33575 – Rs.74490 with other allowances and perks as applicable.

NOTE: Other allowances and perks will be applicable for these posts as per the Company provisions.

Details of Academic Criteria & Experience:

  • Chief Engineer (Distribution): The candidates interested for these posts must have completed BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering along with 15 years experience in Power Sector out of which minimum 5 years in the area of Power Distribution in Selection Posts like Executive Engineer & above. Must have served for at least 1 year as a Superintending Engineer. The candidates having 3 years of experience as a Superintending Engineer are also eligible to apply.
  • Superintendent Engineer (Distribution): The candidates interested for these posts must have completed BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering along with 12 years experience in Power Sector out of which minimum 5 years in the area of Power Distribution in Selection Posts like Executive Engineer & Addl. Executive Engineer. The candidates having 2 years of experience as a Executive Engineer are also eligible to apply.
  • General Manager (HR): The candidates interested for these posts must have completed a Bachelors Degree along with Two years full time or three years part time Post Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA)/ Management Studies (MMS)/ Personnel Management (MPM) with Specialization in Human Resources Management/ Development/ Personnel Management or Master of Social Work (MSW)/ Master in Labor Studies (MLS)/ equivalent Management qualification in H.R/ Personnel Management. Must have at least 12 years experience in Human Resources Development / Personnel Management out of which 5 years should be in a position of responsibility i.e. Asst. General Manager (HR). Must have proficiency with MS-Office package and computers.
  • Assistant General Manager (HR): The candidates interested for these posts must have completed a Bachelors Degree along with Two years full time or three years part time Post Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA)/ Management Studies (MMS)/ Personnel Management (MPM) with Specialization in Human Resources Management/ Development/ Personnel Management or Master of Social Work (MSW)/ Master in Labor Studies (MLS)/ equivalent Management qualification in H.R/ Personnel Management. Must have at least 09 years experience in Human Resources Development / Personnel Management out of which 2 years should be in a position of responsibility i.e. Manager (HR). Must have proficiency with MS-Office package and computers.
  • General Manager (F&A): The candidates interested for these posts must have passed the final Examination of CA/ ICWA. Must have 10 years relevant experience in Finance/ Accounts/ Audit out of which 3 years should be in a position of responsibility such as Senior Manager (F&A) and above.
  • Assistant General Manager (F&A): The candidates interested for these posts must have passed the final Examination of CA/ ICWA. Must have 08 years relevant experience in Finance/ Accounts/ Audit out of which 2 years should be in a position of responsibility such as Manager (F&A) and above.
  • Candidates having higher qualification may be offered advantages in terms of monthly remunerations as per the provisions of the company.  

Age requirement:

  • The applicants should not have crossed more than 45 years of age as on 09-Aug-2014.
  • However, the upper age can be relaxed for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ NTC categories

Application Fees:

  • For General/ OBC candidates and all those applied against Gen/OBC category: Rs.600 (Rupees Six Hundred only)
  • For SC/ST/PWD/ Ex-SM candidates/Other reserved category: Rs.300 (Rupees Three Hundred only)
  • The fees can be remitted in shape of a cash Deposit challan at any branch of Bank of Maharashtra. (Account No 20045003931) in favor of “Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company, Ltd. A/c ‘A’
  • No other mode of payment including Postal Order/ Money Order/ Cash will be accepted.

Selection Procedure:

  • The selection of candidates will be done through a short-listing of candidates as per Age, Qualification and Experience.
  • The selection process will consist of In-Basket Exercises, Committee Exercises, Presentation, Group Discussion and Personal Interview etc.
  • The candidates will be shortlisted for personal interview taking into consideration their performance in the In-Basket Exercises & Committee Exercises, Presentation and Group Discussion, etc.
  • The candidates will be selected on the Merit ranking only.
