Latest Update: The date of Written Examination for recruitment to the post of Constable (Male) in West Bengal Police has been scheduled on 22.01.2017 (Sunday) from 12:00 Noon to 01:00 PM. The e-Admit Cards will be available on the website of West Bengal Police (policewb.gov.in) from 05.01.2017.
No paper Admit Card will be issued or sent by post to the candidates who have applied through the on-line mode nor will it be made available from the office of the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. The candidates are advised to follow the instructions on their Admit Card.
Kolkata Police Recruitment Board (KPRB), invited online/ offline applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of 1167 Constable/ Lady Constable vacancies. Candidates will be selected on the basis of Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test, Interview, and Medical Examination. Provisionally appointed candidates will have to undergo training/ probation. After completion of training, candidates will get his/ her confirmation in the rank.

Qualification: Candidates must have passed Madhyamik Examination under W.B.B.S.E or its equivalent examinations.
Pay Scale: Selected candidates will get the scale of pay Rs. 5400–25200/- (Pay Band 2) plus Grade Pay Rs. 2600/- and other admissible allowances
Age limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 27 years as on 01-January-2015. Upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe Candidates of West Bengal Only. The upper age limit is also relaxable for the Ex-serviceman/ Home Guard serving in Kolkata Police only as per norms.
Application Fee: Rs 150/-
SC/ST Candidates of West Bengal State, are exempted from payment of application fees.
Payment Mode For Online Submission:
1) In Online Mode of Application, candidates are suggested to pay the application fee through payment gateway (Bill Desk) by using Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/ Net-Banking of any Bank. In this case, Candidates have to pay of Rs 155/- (Rs 150/- as Application Fee + Rs. 5/- as “Service Charge” for availing Debit Cards/ Credit Cards/ Net-Banking facility).
2) Through Tathya-Mitra-Kendras: Candidates applying through Tathya-Mitra-Kendras [Kolkata Police Recruitment Board extends facility to submit application through about 4800 Tathya-Mitra-Kendras set up by the Government of West Bengal up to the level of Gram Panchayats in the rural areas of West Bengal.] should have to pay Rs. 170/- (Application Fees: Rs. 150/- + Rs. 20/- as Service Charge to the Tathya-Mitra-Kendras).
3) Collection of Fees through Allahabad Bank: The Kolkata Police Recruitment Board extends the facility of paying application fees through the Allahabad Bank for on-line applicants. In this case, Candidates may deposit the fee in form of system generated challan to any branches of the Allahabad Bank on next working day for payment of the application fees. The applicants also have to pay a sum of Rs. 20/- as service charge to the Branch of Allahabad Bank.
Payment Mode For Offline Submission:
In offline mode, candidates may submit the fees in form of the pre-printed “India Post Challan Form” through Department of Post [Candidates may deposit Application Fees in favour of ‘Kolkata Police Recruitment Board’ in any of the post offices having e-payment facility. The facility will be available in 388 post offices located in the districts of West Bengal. The candidates will have to pay a sum of Rs.10/- as Service Charge to the Postal Department.], or through the Allahabad Bank [Candidates may deposit the fee in form of triplicate challan to any branches of the Allahabad Bank on next working day after generation of Bank Challan. The applicants also have to pay a sum of Rs. 20/- as service charge to the Branch of Allahabad Bank.]
How to Apply: Online OR Off-line Mode of Applications
ONLINE MODE: Application
1) In Online Mode of Application, Candidates can apply online through the official website of Kolkata Police Recruitment Board at www.kprb.kolkatapolice.gov.in.
On successful submission of the online application, the applicants shall be provided with the copy of Application Form with his/ her photograph, signature and unique Application Serial Number. Candidates are suggested to preserve the same for all future communications.
2) Candidates may also apply through Tathya-Mitra-Kendras [4800 Tathya-Mitra-Kendras set up by the Government of West Bengal up to the level of Gram Panchayats in the rural areas of West Bengal.]
OFFLINE MODE:
Note: Before downloading the application form using the website www.kprb.kolkatapolice.gov.in, the applicant has to click for the post he/ she wishes to apply for and has to fill up the following mandatory fields to download the off-line Application Form. The Application Form will also have a bar code printed and an algorithm generated code (Unique Application Serial Number) printed at the bottom of the Form.
Tathya Mitra kendras have been authorized by the Board for downloading these forms along-with the employment notice at a price of Rs. 6/- per form by directly downloading it from the given website in front of the applicants and printing thereafter.
In Offline Mode of Application, CandidateS are suggested to send duly completed application form in prescribed format (paste his/ her recent passport size photograph) in an envelopes of size 32 cm x 22 cm; by ordinary post only to The Member Secretary, Kolkata Police Recruitment Board, 112, Ripon Street, New Wireless Building, 3rd Floor, Kolkata- 700016
Candidates are strongly suggested to superscribing as “NAME OF THE RECRUITMENT ____, NAME OF THE POST Applied for ____ and APPLICATION Serial No. ___” on top of the envelope containing the application form.
