Kerala State Textile Corporation Ltd (KSTCL) Recruitment 2014 For Various Positions

Incorporated in 1972, Kerala State Textile Corporation Ltd (KSTCL) is a fully owned subsidiary of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (KSIDC) with the main objective of setting up/running textile mills in the State of Kerala. The Corporation was looking after the affairs of four private textile mills namely Alagappa Textiles Ltd (Kochi), Parvathy Mills Ltd (Kollam), Vijayamohiny Mills Ltd (Thiruvananthapuram) and Kerala Lakshmi Mills Ltd (Thrissur) as controller and custodian authorised by Government of Kerala till 1975, since they were transferred to National Textiles Corporation (NTC). In 1973, KSTC took over the management of Trivandrum Spinning Mills Ltd (Balaramapuram) and the Bleaching & Calendaring Plant (Balaramapuram) for a period of five years till a separate Board was constituted for TSM.

As part of its efforts to revive the Mills, KSTCL implemented modernization schemes at Prabhuram Mills and Kottayam Textiles, thereby improving the profitability of those units. KSTCL also set up one testing laboratory, Centre for Applied Research & Development in Textiles (CARDT) in the year 1982 and Edarikkode Textiles in the year 1987.

With the recent notification from KSTCL, it invites applications in prescribed formats, from deserving candidates for recruitment of various profiles in multiple disciplines to be posted in various mills under its administration.

The details of the vacancies along with eligibility criteria for recruitment are as under:

Details of Job Positions: (Total 30 Posts)

1. Finance & Accounts-in-Charge: 03 Positions (on Contractual recruitment for 3 years in Kottayam Textiles, and Malabar Spinning & Weaving Mills, Kozhikode)
2. Junior Manager (Electrical): 01 Position (on Permanent recruitment at Prabhuram Mils, Alleppey)
3. Supervisor (Textiles): 07 Positions (on Contractual recruitment for 3 years in Kottayam Textiles, Prabhuram Mills (Alleppey), Edarikkode Textiles (Malappuram) and Malabar Spinning & Weaving Mills in Calicut)
4. Worker Trainee: 10 Positions (Special Recruitment for Scheduled Tribes in Prabhuram Mills, Kottayam Textiles, Edarikkode Textiles and Malabar Spinning & Weaving Mills)
5. Electrician: 08 Positions (Permanent in Prabhuram Mills, Edarikkode Textiles and Malabar Spinning & Weaving Mills)
6. Assistant Fitter: 06 Positions (Permanent in Prabhuram Mills and Kottayam Textiles)
7. Workshop Assistant: 01 Position (Permanent in Kottayam Textiles)

Pay Scale & Remunerations:

• Finance & Accounts-in-Charge: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for a consolidated monthly salary of Rs.25000 during the 1^st year, Rs.27500 during the 2^nd year and Rs.30000 during the 3^rd year.
• Junior Manager (Electrical): The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for a minimum scale of pay of Rs.10790 – Rs.18000 (Around Rs.29715) per month along with other admissible allowances.
• Supervisor (Textiles): The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for a consolidated monthly salary of Rs.15000 during the 1^st year, Rs.16500 during the 2^nd year and Rs.18500 during the 3^rd year.
• Worker Trainee: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for a stipend for 18 months (first 6 months-Rs.150 per day, second 6 months-Rs.200 per day and third 6 months – Rs.225 per day). After successful completion of training period. basic wages and other allowances as per Mill Rules will be paid to the candidates.
• Electrician: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for a monthly salary of around Rs.11200 per month including other allowances.
• Assistant Fitter: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for a monthly salary of around Rs.11200 per month including other allowances.

• Workshop Assistant: The candidates selected for these positions will be eligible for a monthly salary of around Rs.11200 per month including other allowances.
• Other allowances and perks will be applicable as per the rules of the Mills for permanent positions.

Educational Eligibility:

• Finance & Accounts-in-Charge: The candidates interested to join these posts must have completed C.A. (Inter)/I.C.W.A. (Inter) along with 2 years’ post-qualification experience preferably in the Textile Sector.
• Junior Manager (Electrical): The candidates interested to join these posts must have completed SSLC and Diploma in Electrical Engineering along with 5 years’ post-qualification experience as Supervisor (Electrical) preferably in Textile Mill.
• Supervisor (Textiles): The candidates interested to join these posts must have completed SSLC and Diploma in Textile Engineering along with 2 years’ post-qualification experience as Supervisor (Electrical) in Textile Mill.
• Worker Trainee: The candidates interested to join these posts must have completed 8^th standard of education.
• Electrician: The candidates interested to join these posts must have completed SSLC along with N.T.C. Electrician and should have a Wireman license issued by Electrical Inspectorate. They must have 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Assistant Fitter: The candidates interested to join these posts must have completed S.S.L.C. along with I.T.I./I.T.C. (Fitter) and must have 2 years post-qualification experience.

• Workshop Assistant: The candidates interested to join these posts must have completed S.S.L.C. along with I.T.I./I.T.C. (Fitter) and must have 2 years post-qualification experience..

Age Specification:

• For Finance & Accounts-in-Charge and Worker Trainee: The applicant must not have crossed 40 years of age as on 01-May-2014.
• For all other posts: The applicant must not have crossed 36 years of age and should have achieved at least 18 years as on 01-May-2014.
• However, usual relaxation in upper age for reserved category of candidates will be applicable as per rules.

Stages of Examination & Selection:

• The selection will be done on the basis of the Interview or Viva-Voice or Trade Test as required for various positions as demarcated by the KSTCL.
• The final selection will be as per a merit performance in the selection examinations and interview.
