Kandla Port Trust (KPT) is one of the most advanced Port Trusts formulated to manage the Port of Kandla, present on the Western Coast of India in the Kandla Creek and is 90 kms. from the mouth of the Gulf Of Kachch. Kandla Port is a protected natural harbor. TheKPT is operating with a mission of becoming the most economical modern and major port, rendering cost effective services to customers. With an operating surplus of 265.44 crores (in 2012-13), this is one of the profitable Ports of India.
With its recent announcement, the KPT is going to induct competent professionals with various caliber at its operation.

Pay Scale:
- Driver 1st Class (Marine Crafts): The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.11000 – Rs.29400.
- Sr. Stenographer: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.12100 – Rs.30800.
- Time Keeper: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.9400 – Rs.22000.
- Serang (Certified): The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.10200 – Rs.25700.
- Signalman: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.9400 – Rs.22000.
- Carpenter: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.9400 – Rs.22000.
- Switch Board Operator: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.9400 – Rs.22000.
- Wireman: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.9400 – Rs.22000.
- Jr. Engineer (Civil): The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.12100 – Rs.30800.
- Helper to Plumber: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.8100 – Rs.18200.
- Helper to Carpenter: The finally selected candidates will receive a Pay in the range of Rs.8100 – Rs.18200.
- Other allowances and perks will be applicable as per Kandla Port Trust regulations.
Important Eligibility Conditions:
Academic Requirements:
- Driver 1st Class (Marine Crafts): The candidates interested for these posts must have secured 1st Class Driver’s Certificate of Inland Steam or Diesel Vessels.
- Sr. Stenographer: The candidates interested for these posts must have completed Matriculation with speed of 40 w.p.m. in English Typewriting and 120 w.p.m. in English Shorthand or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi typewriting and 80 w.p.m. in Hindi Shorthand.
- Time Keeper: The candidates interested for these posts must have completed Matriculation with previous experience of 2 to 3 years in Time Keeping.
- Serang (Certified): The candidates interested for these posts must have completed Serang’s Certificate under ISV Act.
- Signalman: The candidates interested for these posts must have completed 10+2/ Intermediate/ SSLC and should have complete knowledge of International code. Should be able to receive and send messages b + G 98y mores and semaphore at the rate of 8 and 12 words per minutes respectively.
- Carpenter: The candidates interested for these posts must have previous experience as Carpenter
- Switch Board Operator: The candidates interested for these posts must have completed ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade and Minimum experience of 3 years in operation and maintenance of HT/LT switch gears. He should also possess Wireman’s Certificate of competency.
- Wireman: The candidates interested for these posts must have completed ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade and minimum experience of 3 years as wireman.
- Jr. Engineer (Civil): The candidates interested for these posts must have completed Degree In Civil Engineering OR Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years of experience.
- Helper to Plumber: The candidates interested for these posts must have previous experience as Helper to Plumber
- Helper to Carpenter: The candidates interested for these posts must have worked as a Khalasi in Workshop (with Carpenter for 2 years)
Age Requirement:
- For Driver 1st Class (Marine Crafts), the applicant must not have attended the maximum age of 40 years.
- For Sr. Stenographer, Time Keeper & Helper to Plumber, the applicant must have attended the minimum age of 18 years and should not have crossed maximum age of 25 years.
- For Jr. Engineer (Civil) & Helper to Carpenter the applicant must have attended the minimum age of 18 years and should not have crossed maximum age of 28 years.
- For Serang (Certified), the applicant must have attended the minimum age of 25 years and should not have crossed maximum age of 35 years.
- For Signalman, the applicant must have attended the minimum age of 19 years and should not have crossed maximum age of 25 years.
- For Carpenter, the applicant must have attended the minimum age of 20 years and should not have crossed maximum age of 30 years.
- For Switch Board Operator & Wireman, the applicant must not have attended the maximum age of 25 years.
- However, there will be age relaxation admissible for reserved category candidates as per rules.
Mode of Selection:
- The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance through a Written Examination followed by an Interview as per the discretion of Kandla Port Trust
- Candidates have to pass through each stage of selection to be declared eligible.
