The Jharkhand Academic Council announced that the teachers eligibility test to be held on November, 2016 after a gap of four years. The Jharkhand Academic Council, has released the examination notification for Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test (JAC TET 2016) for appointment as a Primary Stage Teacher (for Classes I-V), and Elementary Stage Teacher (for Classes VI-VIII). Those clearing the examination will be recruited as teachers in primary and middle schools of the state.

Important Dates:
Starting Date for Online Registration: 08-September-2016
Last Date for Online Registration: 05-October-2016
Validity of Certificate: To be eligible for appointment as a teacher in class I to VIII candidates must have secured minimum 60% marks (52% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC Non Creamy Layer) in JAC TET 2016. The validity of the certificate shall be for a maximum period of seven years from the date of issue of the certificate.
Structure Of CTET: There will be two papers of JAC TET 2016 and the examination will consist of objective type Multiple Choice Question. There will be NO NEGATIVE marking in this exam.
Paper I (150 Marks) will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V
Child Development and Pedagogy, Language (Hindi), Language (English), Mathematics, and Environmental Education of 30 marks each.
Paper II (150 Marks) will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII
Child Development and Pedagogy, Language (Hindi), Language (English), Maths and Science OR Social Science.
Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
Minimum Educational Qualification:
Level – I – For becoming Primary Stage Teacher (for Classes I-V): Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), OR, Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Level – II – For becoming Elementary Stage Teacher (for Classes VI-VIII): Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), OR,Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), OR, Graduation with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE, OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed., OR, Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Mode of Selection: The selection of candidates will be done through a Written Test, where questions will be Objective Type in nature.
Application Fees:
For General/ OBC Category: Rs. 500/- (in case appearing in only one paper) and Rs.1000/- (in case appearing in both papers)
For SC / ST Category / Differently-Abled: Rs. 250/- (in case appearing in only one paper) and Rs.500/- (in case appearing in both papers)
The fee can be remitted by the candidates through SBI Challan. The fee can also be paid by Debit/ Credit Card, Internet Banking through Online mode.
