Jharkhand SSC Recruitment For 73 Posts Thru Scientific Assistant Competitive Examination 2013
Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) is the state level nodal agency for selecting candidates by conducting competent evaluation and recruiting the candidates in multiple departments and their subsidiary organizations as and when required by the departments for their service purpose. The JSSC is making a lot of effort to frame out the guidelines for selection and conducting a dedicated evaluation of the candidature to select the best suitable persons for various state government positions.
With the recent requirement from the Forensic Science Laboratory, the JSSC has released a notification regarding inviting competent candidates for filling up 73 Posts of Scientific Assistants through Scientific Assistant Competitive Examination 2013.
The details of the vacancies and the norms of recruitment are detailed as under:

Details of vacancies:
- Scientific Assistant (Physics and Ballistics): 17 Posts (UR-09, ST-04, SC-02, EBC-01, BC-01)
- Scientific Assistant (Document/ Finger Print/ Foot Print/ Handwriting): 03 Posts (UR-02, ST-01)
- Scientific Assistant (General Chemistry/ Toxicology/ Explosive/ Narcotics): 30 Posts (UR-15, ST-08, SC-03, EBC-02, BC-02)
- Scientific Assistant (Biology/ Serology/ DNA): 20 Posts (UR-10, ST-05, SC-02, EBC-02, BC-01)
- Scientific Assistant (Photography): 03 Posts (UR-02, ST-01)
Pay Scale:
- The candidates who will be selected for these posts will receive a scale of Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs.4200 per month in PB-II
- Other allowances and perks will be applicable for these candidates as per rules of the State Government.
Age Requirement:
- The candidates must have complete 21 years of age but not reached 35 as on 01-Aug-2013.
- Age relaxations are applicable according to the rules laid down by the state government.
- Proof of age is to be reckoned as in the matriculation certificate or school leaving certificate or Birth Certificate issued by competent authorities.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
- Scientific Assistant (Physics and Ballistics): The candidates must have completed MSc in Physics with at least 55% marks. Must have a Certificate of Computer Education covering MS-Word, MS-Excel, Internet and Email.
- Scientific Assistant (Document/ Finger Print/ Foot Print/ Handwriting): The candidates must have completed MSc in Physics/ Chemistry with at least 55% marks. Must have a Certificate of Computer Education covering MS-Word, MS-Excel, Internet and Email.
- Scientific Assistant (General Chemistry/ Toxicology/ Explosive/ Narcotics): The candidates must have completed MSc in Chemistry with at least 55% marks. Must have a Certificate of Computer Education covering MS-Word, MS-Excel, Internet and Email.
- Scientific Assistant (Biology/ Serology/ DNA): The candidates must have completed MSc in Zoology/ Botany/ Physical Chemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Bio-technology with at least 55% marks. Must have a Certificate of Computer Education covering MS-Word, MS-Excel, Internet and Email.
- Scientific Assistant (Photography): The candidates must have completed BSc in Physics with at least 55% marks. Must have a Certificate of Computer Education covering MS-Word, MS-Excel, Internet and Email.
Mode of Selection:
- The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of a Written Examination as per the discretion of the Staff Selection Commission.
- The selection list will be prepared on the basis of the results of Written Examination.
- The commission may conduct a personal interview and verify the certificates before approving the merit list.
Application Fee:
- For SC/ST candidates from Jharkhand: Rs.125
- For all others: Rs.500
- This non-refundable fee needs to be paid in shape of a Bank Challan in any branch of bank of India. The challan can be downloaded from the website of JSSC.

- Candidates are required to fill in the application form, and upload their recent passport size photograph and signature at the appropriate spaces on the application.
- The Application form needs to be filled up with facts and no change to the information entered will be granted after final submission of Online Application.
- Two copies of the applications need to be photocopied for reference of for the candidate.
- The candidates should not submit any hardcopy of the application at this time.
