ISRO DECU/ SAC Recruitment 2014 for various Positions At DECU, Ahmedabad: Advt No: DECU-SAC/02/2014
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been quite instrumental in development of space technology and its application to serve various national tasks. Accordingly, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully operationalized two major satellite systems namely Indian National Satellites (INSAT) for communication services and Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) satellites for management of natural resources; also, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) for launching IRS type of satellites and Geostationary Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) for launching INSAT type of satellites. ISRO has been utilizing Indian Space Programme to promote the development and application of space science and technology for the socio-economic benefit of the country.
Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU) is involved in realizing various satellite-based societal applications like Telemedicine, Tele-Education, etc. The two important elements of such projects are ‘Video Programme Production’, which is done in the areas of education, development, science, space applications, etc. and ‘Social Research Studies’, which are conducted in the areas of communication, science-society interaction, societal impact of space technology, etc.
With the recent announcement from the DECU-SAC, there is a few vacancies need to be filled up through open advertisement and they are likely to be posted in DECU/SAC/ISRO, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. However, the Department reserves the right to post the candidates in any of the Centres/Unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation/ Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required.

Pay Scale provisions:
Selected candidates will receive remuneration in the following pay bands:
- Post Code-01: Social Research Officer ‘C’: Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400
- Post Code-02: Junior Producer: Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400
- Post Code-03: Social Research Assistant: Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4800
- Post Code-04: Program Assistant: Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4800
- Post Code-05: Technical Assistant (Sound Recording): Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4600
- Post Code-06: Scientific Assistant-A (Multimedia): Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4600
- Post Code-07: Media Library Assistant-A: Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4600

Academic Eligibility:
- Post Code-01: Social Research Officer ‘C’: The applicants must hold Ph.D. in Social Work/ Sociology/ Development Communication/ Mass Communication. Knowledge of Statistics, SPSS, Microsoft Office Software and good command over English language is desirable.
- Post Code-02: Junior Producer: The applicant must be a Ph.D. holders in Film & TV Production/ Development Communication/ Mass Communication. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and good command over English & Hindi language is desirable.
- Post Code-03: Social Research Assistant: The applicant must have Master’s Degree (2 years) with 1st class in Social Work/ Sociology/ Development Communication/ Mass Communication. Knowledge of Statistics, SPSS, Microsoft Office Software and good command over English language.
- Post Code-04: Program Assistant: The applicant must have Master’s Degree (minimum 2 years duration) with 1st Class in Film & TV Production/ Development Communication/ Mass Communication. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software is desirable.
- Post Code-05: Technical Assistant (Sound Recording): The Applicant must have Diploma (minimum 3 years duration) with 1st class in Sound Engineering/ Sound Recording.
- Post Code-06: Scientific Assistant-A (Multimedia): The applicant must have B.Sc. in Multimedia/ Animation (minimum 3 years duration) with 1st class from UGC/AICTE/Govt. recognized Institutions. Multimedia Software Knowledge – Maya, 3DS Max, Premiere, VFX, After Effects, Flash, Photoshop, CorelDraw, etc. is desirable for the posts.
- Post Code-07: Media Library Assistant-A: The applicant must have Graduation with Master’s Degree with 1st class in Library Science/ Library Information Science or equivalent. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software is desirable.
- Post Code-08: Library Assistant-A: The applicant must have Graduation with Master’s Degree with 1st class in Library Science/ Library Information Science or equivalent. Science Graduate with knowledge of Computer Applications in the field of Library & Information Science is desirable for these posts.
Age:
- The applicants must not have crossed 35 years of age as on the last date for Online Submission of Application (05-May-2014)
- However, relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-SM candidates as per rules.
Selection Procedure:
- The selection of candidates will be done on a merit ranking basis through a Personal Interview.
- If required, ISRO-DECU may conduct screening test for short-listing the candidates.
- The candidates may have to apply for the Pre-Employment Medical before final induction.
