Indian Coast Guard service was established in 1977 as a result of enforcement of water laws under national jurisdiction. It looks after the safety of property and life of persons at sea.

Indian Coast Guard has invited applications from talented unmarried Indian citizens for post of Navik (General Duty).

Those who are interested in applying should possess minimum qualification of 10+2 with 60% of total marks and minimum 60% marks in Maths and Physics. Required educational qualifications may vary depending upon number of applications received.
Applicants should be born between 01-08-1991 and 31-07-1995. Upper age relaxation of 5 years will be offered to SC/ ST while 3 years to OBC.
Recruited candidates shall get a pay scale of Rs. 5200 – Rs. 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 2000. One will also receive additional benefits related to various allowances and leaves. Promotion prospects also exist up to the rank of Pradhan Adhikari where pay shall raise to Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade pay Rs. 4800
All the shortlisted candidates will have to undergo written test & physical fitness test. Those who successfully clear these tests shall be subjected to final medical examination. After that all recruited candidates will be put to training at INS Chilka from August, 2013 onwards.

After successful submission of application form one must take 2 printed copies of it for further use. Both copies should be affixed with recent photograph and signature of applicant. One copy should be enclosed with copies of all required documents attested by a gazetted officer. It should be submitted at recruitment centre. Other copy should be kept as identity proof of candidate during selection.
Any candidate who fails to produce proof of educational qualifications, age or other criteria shall be subjected to disqualification.
