Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) is a fast growing power generating utility at par with other power companies like NTPC/ SJVNL/ NHPC. With the recent notification, the HPPCL is inviting candidates in various profiles Apprentice Trainee for a training of 1 year in various disciplines of Bachelors Degree Apprentice, MBA Apprentice and Diploma Engineer Apprentice. Only candidates who are bonafied natives of Himachal Pradesh can apply for these positions.

NOTE:
5% of total vacancies will be reserved for Project Affected Families
Pay Scale:
- Apprentice Engineer: The candidates selected against these slots will be eligible to receive a monthly stipend of Rs.12000 per month.
- Apprentice Executive/ Company Secretary: The candidates selected against these slots will be eligible to receive a monthly stipend of Rs.12000 per month.
- Apprentice Junior Engineer/ Junior Officer: The candidates selected against these slots will be eligible to receive a monthly stipend of Rs.8000 per month.
- Bachelor accommodation may be provided in projects, subject to availability
- If Bachelor accommodation is provided, the remuneration will be reduced by Rs.1000 per month.
Period of Training:
- The candidates selected against these slots will be engaged as an Apprentice Trainee for a period of 1 year from the date of their induction.
- These candidates will have no right for permanent employment after completion of training period.
Education & Academics:
- Apprentice Engineer (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ IT): The Applicant should have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in concerned branch of Engineering from a reputed institute with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
- Apprentice Executive (Personnel): The Applicant should have completed MBA in HR/ Personnel Management or equivalent from a reputed institute with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Apprentice Executive (Finance): The Applicant should have completed MBA in Finance/ ICWA/ CA/ MFSC or equivalent from a reputed institute with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Apprentice Company Secretary: The Applicant should have completed a Professional Qualification from Institute of Company Secretaries in India and must be a member of ICSI.
- Apprentice Junior Engineer (Civil/ Electrical): The Applicant should have completed a full-time course 3 years Diploma in respective branch of Engineering from a reputed institute with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Apprentice (Geologist): The Applicant should have completed MA/ MSc with Geology and with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Apprentice (R&R): The Applicant should have completed MA Sociology/ Masters in Social Work with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Apprentice Junior Officer (Environment): The Applicant should have completed Masters Degree in Environment Science/ Environment/ Forestry/ Wildlife/ Natural Resource Management/ Wood Sciences/ Forest Management/ Environmental Planning/ Ecology from a reputed institute with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
NOTE:
- All candidates must have knowledge of customs/ manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh (Preferred)
- The candidates belonging to SC/ST category and project affected families will enjoy a relaxed norm of percentage of marks with 5% relaxation
Age:
- For Graduates/ PG professionals: A candidate must not have crossed 30 years of age and should be over 22 years as on 01-Sept-2014 to be eligible to apply.
- For Diploma holders: A candidate must not have crossed 24 years of age and should be over 18 years as on 01-Sept-2014 to be eligible to apply.
- However upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST candidates of Himachal Pradesh as per the norms of the state. A relaxation of 5 years is applicable in maximum age limit for Project Affected Families.
Mode of Selection:
- Depending upon the number of applicants the HPPCL may conduct Screening Test/ Written test for shortlisting.
- The Final selection of a candidate will be made solely on the basis of his/her performance and career assessment.
- The candidates have to produce their original documents on the day of interview.
