Himachal Pradesh High Court Staff Recruitment 2013-14 for Various Class-III and Class-IV Posts

Precisely, the former Princely States had different systems of Administration and set of laws and in most of the Princely States, the administration was run on the whims of the Rulers or Wazirs and their words were considered to be the law. The Himachal Pradesh was born as a result of integration of 26 Shimla and four Punjab hill States into a Centrally Administered Area.

The State of Himachal Pradesh attained the Statehood in the year 1971, and established its own High Court with Headquarters at “Revenswood” Shimla, having one Hon’ble Chief Justice and two Hon’ble Judges. Though small, this High Court has a pride of place in this behalf. Now the strength of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh is Eleven including the Chief Justice.

With the recent notification, the Himachal Pradesh High Court is inviting competent candidates in various profiles of operation in all the Civil & Sessions Divisions in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

The eligibility criteria and mode of application are as follows:

Important dates:

  • The date of determining the educational eligibility: 01-Nov-2013
  • The date of determining the age eligibility: 01-Jan-2013

Details of Vacancies:

  1. Judgment Writer (on contract basis) (Class-III): 17 Posts (UR-16, SC-01)
  2. Steno-Typist (Class-III): 11 Posts (UR-07, OBC-01, SC-02 and ST-01)
  3. Steno-Typist (on contract basis) (Class-III): 02 Posts (UR)
  4. Clerk (Class-III): 99 Posts (UR-57, OBC-13, SC-21, ST-06 & PWD-02)
  5. Clerk (on contract basis) (Class-III): 50 Posts (UR-30, OBC-09, SC-08, ST-03)
  6. Driver (Class-III): 02 Posts (UR)
  7. Driver (on contract basis) (Class-III): 02 Posts (UR)
  8. Process Server (Class-IV): 14 Posts (UR-06, OBC-03, SC-02, ST-03)  

Pay Scale:

  • Judgment Writer: The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.10300 – Rs.34800 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.3800.
  • Steno-Typist (on contract basis & normal): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.5910 – Rs.20200 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.2000.
  • Clerk (on contract basis & normal): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.5910 – Rs.20200 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.1900.
  • Driver (on contract basis & normal): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.5910 – Rs.20200 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.2000.
  • Process Server (Class-IV): The candidates selected for the posts will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.4900 – Rs.10680 per month with a Grade Pay of Rs.1400.

Education & Academics:

  • Judgment Writer: The candidates should have completed Graduation Degree from a recognized University and should have a minimum speed of 80 W.P.M. in English Stenography and a minimum typing speed in English at 60 W.P.M. on computers.
  • Steno-Typist (on contract basis & normal): The candidates should have completed Graduation Degree from a recognized University and should have a minimum speed of 80 W.P.M. in English Stenography and a minimum typing speed in English at 60 W.P.M. on computers.
  • Clerk (on contract basis & normal): The candidates should have completed Graduation from a recognized University and should have a minimum typing speed in English at 50 W.P.M. on computers (need to pass the test).
  • Driver (on contract basis & normal): The candidates should have completed Matriculation and should possess a valid Driving License for LMV transport having driving experience of at least 5 years. Preference shall be given to those candidates having good mechanical knowledge of Automobiles Maintenance.
  • Process Server (Class-IV): The candidates should have completed 10+2 (Intermediate) from a recognized University.

NOTE:

  1. All candidates must have knowledge of customs/ manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh (Preferred)

Age:

  • A candidate must not have crossed 45 years of age and should be over 18 years as on 01-Jan-2013 to be eligible to apply.
  • However upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST candidates of Himachal Pradesh as per the norms of the state.

Application Fee:

  • For General Category (Class-III): Rs.200
  • For Reserved Category (Class-III): Rs.150
  • For General Category (Class-IV): Rs.150
  • For Reserved Category (Class-IV): Rs.100
  • The fees can be remitted in shape of a Indian Postal Order/ Demand Draft in favour of Registrar General, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla payable at Shimla.
  • The candidates should write their Name, Application Number, Mobile number and sign on the reverse side of Indian Postal Order/ Demand Draft

Mode of Selection:

  • Depending upon the number of applicants the Himachal Pradesh High Court may conduct Screening Test/ Written test prior to Personal Interview for the posts.
  • The Final selection of a candidate will be made solely on the basis of his/her performance on merit basis.
  • The select list of the candidates will be drawn firstly against the regular posts and thereafter against contractual posts in order of their merit.
  • The candidates have to produce their original documents on the day of interview.
