Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) has been designed by the National Council for Teacher Education and Department of School Education, Haryana to ensure that persons recruited as teachers possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels. As an essential criterion, the HTET has to be attended by each person who envisage a dream career in teaching in Elementary, Secondary or Senior Secondary Levels in any school in Haryana. The HTET will be conducted by the Board of School Education, Haryana under the Department of School Education, Government of Haryana.
The HTET notification has been declared by the Board of School Education for the year 2012-13 and candidates who are interested for a future career with teaching jobs can apply Online through the website of Haryana Board of School Education. The details of the eligibility criteria and the recruitment norms are as under:

- Date of commencement of Online Registration: 30-April-2013
- Last date for Online Registration, uploading of images and Downloading of e-challan for fee payment: 14-May-2013
- Last date for depositing examination fee at designated banks: 15-May-2013
- Last date for Final Completion Online Registration: 15-May-2013
- Last date for printing and offline receipt of confirmation page: 20-May-2013
- Downloading of Admit Card/ Enrolment No Slip: 25-May-2013 onwards
- Date of Written Examination: 01-June-2013 (for PGT-Lecturer), 02-June-2013 (for Primary Teacher) and 03-June-2013 (for TGT)
- Date for recognizing age, education and qualification: 31-March-2013
Minimum Educational Qualification:
- Level – 1 – For becoming Primary Teacher (for Classes I-V): Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Passed or appearing in final year of 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Special Education OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed Or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR, Graduation and passed/ appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education OR, Matriculation with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects
- Level – 2 – For becoming Trained Graduate Teacher (for Classes VI-X): BA/ BSc/ BCom with minimum 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or 1 year Bachelor in Education (Bed) Or 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. - Level – 3 – for becoming Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed. from recognized university, And Matriculation with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects. Application Fees:
- For each level for all candidates (except SC and Differently abled): Rs.600
- For SC & Differently Abled candidates: Rs.300
- The fee can be remitted by the candidates through a System Generated Challan at any branch of preferred bank as mentioned on the detailed advertisement on //www.hbse.ac.in/pdf/information%20bulletin.pdf only
Mode of Selection:
- The selection will be done through a Written Test, & Interview
- This selection will be done strictly on a Merit Listing
How to Apply:
a) The candidates may apply through online mode only in English at the website of the Haryana Board of Secondary Education at www.hbse.ac.in or at www.htet.nic.in
b) The applicants are advised read through the instructions and guidelines before submission of online Application form
c) The candidates are advised to fill in the application with caution as there will be no chance of altering the data once the application form is submitted
d) After the completion of first phase of the registration, the candidates need to take-out the system generated fee payment challan and deposit requisite fees in any branch of the preferred banks as stated on the complete advertisement
e) After the payment of fees, the next and final step of the registration can be carried out.
f) The candidates have to send the Board’s copy of the hardcopy of the application affixing their photograph and putting the thumb impression at appropriate spaces
g) The applications should be submitted by hand to the concerned District Coordination Centres
h) Such candidates who are unable to deposit the Confirmation page etc. at the District Coordination Centre, should send the same only through Registered/Speed Post in an envelope of size 12”x9” super-scribing thereon “APPLICATION FOR HTET- LEVEL _______” so as to reach the following address before the last date for receipt of application (i.e. 20-May-2013)
