Gujarat State Eligibility Test 2021 for Assistant Professor in Universities and Colleges of the State- Online Registration Gujarat State Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor 2021
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda has recently released a notification conduct the State Eligibility Test (SET) in Gujarat for determining the Eligibility for Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of Gujarat State. This will be the 15th Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET), which will be held on 26th December 2021.
The details of the criteria for the Application for Gujarat SET 2021 are as follows:
GSET Examination will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions.
Paper I- 100 Marks
The questions will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper II- 200 Marks
The questions will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. There are no negative marks for incorrect answers.

Date of availability of Admit Cards online: 7 Days prior to Exam Day

- Subject Code-13: Education
- Subject Code-14: Psychology
- Subject Code-15: Library and Information Sciences
- Subject Code-16: Law

- Subject Code-19: Computer Science and Applications
- Subject Code-21: Physical Education
- Subject Code-23: Home Science
- Subject Code-25: Social Work
Who Can Apply:
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in Masters Degree in concerned subject specialty without rounding off.
Candidates who have completed or are pursuing the final year of Masters Degree in the concerned subjects are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD)
Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination has been completed by 19th September 1991 and they have attained minimum 50% marks in their Master’s Degree level. (5% grace in the minimum percentage of marks)
Those candidates who are studying in the first year of two years course or in first two semesters of a four semesters course of Master’s Degree cannot appear for this test.
Note: The candidates with the above qualification are advised to fill up their degree with percentage of marks in specified columns as required.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit applying in GSET for eligibility of Assistant Professor.
Validity of SET: The SET certificate is valid for that particular State only and forever. There is no maximum validity period.
Application Fees:
General / Gen – EWS / SEBC (Non-creamy layer) Candidates: Rs. 900
SC / ST / Third gender Candidates: Rs.700
PWD (PH/VH) Candidates: Rs. 100
Application fee can be paid only through online mode by Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking. Candidates should note down and preserve Order Number and SBIepay Reference ID for online registration of their application form.
How to Apply: The candidates who fulfill the eligibility Criteria are required to apply ONLINE through the website of the Gujarat SET at www.gujaratset.ac.in
Before applying online, candidates are advised to go through detailed notification available at the above website at www.gujaratset.in for reconfirmation of eligibility. After completion of Online Application, the candidates need to take hard copies of the Online Application and keep that with him for future reference.
Special Note: The candidates are advised to read through the complete application bulletin and then fill up the application form. It is compulsory for the candidate to appear in all papers. The candidate who does not appear in any paper will not be permitted to appear in the next paper.
The Government of India as per its revamped Education Policy has emphasized on maintaining uniform standards of teaching in the entire country. In this line the appointment of Lecturers/Assistant Professors has been standardized through a National/ State level Eligibility Test. UGC, New Delhi has been conducting the UGC-NET Examination for this purpose. As the State Governments were given an option to conduct their own State Level Eligibility Test (SLET), the Gujarat government in collaboration with UGC has identified the M. S. University of Baroda as the Nodal Agency to conduct SLET for eligibility for Lectureship in colleges in Gujarat. Candidates who qualify the Gujarat SET will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of lecturers of the various Universities / Colleges / Institutions (Government/ Aided / Private) in the state of Gujarat.
