GRSE Recruitment 2014 for 33 Posts of Assistant Managers, Dy Managers and Managers

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE Ltd.) is one of the premier Defense Shipyards enjoying the Mini Ratna, Category – I status and effectively contributing to the defense preparedness of the country by building different sophisticated and state-of-the-art warships. Recently, GRSE offers come up as a major shipyard organization in India to create an array of ships ranging from outstanding frigates to interceptor vessels. To stay up to date with global styles, the GRSE undertakes modernization associated with infrastructural facilities.

With its recent announcement, the GRSE is inviting candidature from various Engineering Disciplines to join in 33 vacancies of Managers, Deputy Managers and Assistant Managers in various cadres. The applications are being invited through Online Mode only.

The details of the vacancies and the requisite criteria for selection are detailed as below:

Essential Qualification & Experience:

  • Corporate Planning: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (BE, B.Tech, Four years B.Sc. (Engineering), AMIE) or equivalent in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Naval Architecture discipline preferably with Post-Graduate Degree / Diploma in Business Management with specialization in Strategic Planning/ Marketing. They must have at least 8 years of experience including minimum 3 years in Corporate Planning / Strategic Management or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 6 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade.
  • Finance: The candidates must have completed CA/ICWA. They must have 8 years of experience with minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade for Manager posts, 5 years of experience with minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade for Deputy Manager posts and no experience required for Assistant Manager Posts.
  • Mechanical Engineering: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (BE, B.Tech, Four years B.Sc. (Engineering), AMIE) or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. They must have at least 8 years of experience relevant disciplines including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 6 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Manager Positions.
  • Naval Architecture: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (BE, B.Tech, Four years B.Sc. (Engineering), AMIE) or equivalent in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics/ Naval Architecture preferably with a Post-Graduate Degree in Naval Architecture. They must have at least 8 years of experience relevant disciplines including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 6 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Manager Positions.
  • Material: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (BE, B.Tech, Four years B.Sc. (Engineering), AMIE) or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Production/ Naval Architecture preferably with a MBA/ PG-Diploma in Material Management/ Supply Chain/ Operations/ Logistics Management. They must have at least 8 years of experience relevant disciplines including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 6 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Manager Positions. They must have at least 5 years of experience relevant disciplines including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 3 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Deputy Manager Positions.
  • Electrical Engineering: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (BE, B.Tech, Four years B.Sc. (Engineering), AMIE) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. They must have at least 8 years of experience relevant disciplines including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 6 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Manager Positions.
  • Industrial Engineering: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (BE, B.Tech, Four years B.Sc. (Engineering), AMIE) or equivalent in Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial Engineering. They must have at least 8 years of experience relevant disciplines including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 6 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Manager Positions.
  • Medical: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (MBBS) or equivalent. They must have at least 5 years of experience in a hospital/ nursing home including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Medicine in concerned discipline with 3 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Deputy Manager Positions.
  • Legal: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (LLB) or equivalent. They must have at least 5 years of experience in a handling service matters, commercial law including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Law in concerned discipline with 3 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Deputy Manager Positions.
  • Technical: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree (BE, B.Tech, Four years B.Sc. (Engineering), AMIE) or equivalent in Civil/ Mechanical/ Production/ Electrical Engineering/ Naval Architecture. They must have at least 5 years of experience in Shipbuilding / Large Engineering Industry including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 3 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Deputy Manager Positions.
  • Safety: The candidates must have completed Full Time Bachelors Degree in Engineering with Degree/ Diploma in Industrial Safety. Graduates in Physics/ Chemistry and having Degree/ Diploma in Industrial Safety can also apply. They must have at least 8 years of experience in relevant industry including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 6 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Manager Positions. They must have at least 5 years of experience in relevant industry including minimum 2 years in immediate lower grade or Master Degree in Engineering in concerned discipline with 3 years relevant experience out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade, if they are applying for Deputy Manager Positions.
  • Human Resource/ Welfare: The candidates must have completed MBA with Specialization in HR or Graduate with PG Degree/ Diploma in Social work/ Welfare/ Labor Welfare/ Industrial Relation/ Personnel Management disciplines. Must possess certificate issued by the State Govt. to work as Welfare Officer under West Bengal Factories (Welfare Officers) Rules. They must have 8 years relevant experience including experience as a welfare officer in large industry out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade for the post of Managers.
  • Human Resource: The candidates must have completed MBA with Specialization in HR or Graduate with PG Degree/ Diploma in Social work/ Welfare/ Labor Welfare/ Industrial Relation/ Personnel Management disciplines. They must have 8 years relevant experience in handling HR issues in the area of IR / Contract Labor Management / Welfare / Training in large industry out of which 2 years in immediate lower grade for the post of Managers. No experience is required for Assistant Manager positions.
  • Security: The candidates must have completed Graduation in any discipline with experience in Navy / Army / Air Force or Para Military Forces. Candidates having Diploma in Industrial Security will be preferred for this post.

NOTE:

  • Experience for Managers will be minimum 8 years (6 years with Masters Degree)
  • Experience for Deputy Managers will be minimum 5 years (3 years with Masters Degree)
  • There is no Experience specified for Assistant Managers
  • Working knowledge in Computer is essential for all posts.

Pay Scale:

  • Managers: The candidates selected for these posts will be placed in a scale of Rs.24900 – Rs.50500 in the E-3 category with an annual increment of 3% in IDA Pattern. This will be equivalent to Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs.6600 in CDA pattern in PB-III. 
  • Deputy Managers: The candidates selected for these posts will be placed in a scale of Rs.20600 – Rs.46500 in the E-2 category with an annual increment of 3% in IDA Pattern. This will be equivalent to Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs.6600 in CDA pattern in PB-III. 
  • Assistant Managers: The candidates selected for these posts will be placed in a scale of Rs.16400 –Rs.40500 in the E-1 category with an annual increment of 3% in IDA Pattern. This will be equivalent to Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs.5400 in CDA pattern in PB-III.  
  • Other perks and allowances will be as per rules of the GRSE.
  • The CTC per annum in Asst. Manager grade is approximately Rs. 6.8 Lakhs.
  • The CTC per annum in Deputy Manager grade is approximately Rs. 8.5 Lakhs.
  • The CTC per annum in Manager grade is approximately Rs. 10.4 Lakhs.

Max Age Limit:

  • Managers: A candidate should not exceed max age of 42 Years as on 01-June-2014 to be eligible to apply.
  • Deputy Managers: A candidate should not exceed max age of 35 Years as on 01-June-2014 to be eligible to apply.
  • Assistant Managers: A candidate should not exceed max age of 28 Years as on 01-June-2014 to be eligible to apply.
  • However, relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable for the candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD categories.

Selection Process:

  • The candidates will be selected through a Selection Test (Written Examination) followed by Interview for these posts.
  • Based on the scores of Selection Test and organizational requirement, candidates will be short listed for the Personal Interview.

Physical / Medical Fitness

  • Desirous candidates seeking employment with GRSE need to be medically fit as per GRSE’s pre-employment medical standard.

  • After Online Submission of application the candidates are advised to take print out of auto-generated filled in Application Format (landscape layout), put their signature at designated places and send it to the following address through ORDINARY POST only so as to reach by the last date notified (10-July-2014)
  • The envelope containing Application must be super-scribed as “Empl. Notification No. OS: 03/14” and “Post Applied for…………………………………..” in Bold and capital letters.
