Govt. of India Press Recruitment 2013-14 for Various Posts on Deputation Basis

The history of the Government of India Presses dates way back to the British Era as Press to the Private Secretary to the Viceroy. The Directorate of Printing had six printing Presses in pre-independence period. With the manifold increase in Government activities, since it became difficult to cope with the printing needs of the Government of India, the number of printing presses were increased all over the country.

Today, the Directorate of Printing has 16 Government of India Presses including three Text Book Presses set up with the gifted machinery / equipment of the then Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). It is basically a service Department running on “No Profit No Loss” basis and is dependent largely on jobs from various Ministries / Departments of the Government.

With the recent Notification from the Government of India Press-1, Kolkata, there is an announcement for induction of various posts on deputation basis from various Government Offices.

The details of the eligibility criteria and the other essentials for application are detailed as under.

Pay Scale Provisions:

  • Hindi Translator: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-II with Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4200 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Artist Retoucher: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-II with Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4200 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Senior Artist: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-II with Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4200 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Reader: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.2800 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Offset Machineman: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-II with Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4200 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Offset Machineman Assistant: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.2800 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Offset Machineman Attendant: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.1900 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Binder: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.2400 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Mechanic: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.2800 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Driver (Light Motor Vehicle): The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.1900 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Coupon Clerk/ canteen Clerk: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.1900 along with other perks and remunerations
  • Salesman/ canteen Clerk: The selected applicants will be eligible for an initial Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with grade pay of Rs.1900 along with other perks and remunerations

Academic Eligibility Norms:

  • Hindi Translator: Must hold analogous position in Government and must have Master’s Degree with English/ Hindi as a compulsory subject in degree level or equivalent
  • Artist Retoucher: Must hold analogous position in Government for a period of at least 5 years in Regular Employment subject to qualifying Trade Test
  • Senior Artist: Must hold analogous position in Government for a period of at least 5 years in Regular Employment subject to qualifying Trade Test
  • Reader: Must hold analogous position in Central Government
  • Offset Machineman: Must hold analogous position in Central Government or 07 years experience as an Offset Machineman Assistant (subject to trade test)
  • Offset Machineman Assistant: Must hold analogous position in Central Government or 08 years experience as an Offset Machineman Attendant (subject to trade test)
  • Offset Machineman Attendant: Must hold analogous position in Central Government
  • Binder: Must hold analogous position in Central Government or 8 years experience as Assistant Binder
  • Mechanic: Must hold analogous position in Central Government or 8 years experience as Assistant Mechanic (Printing/ Binding)
  • Driver (L V): Must hold analogous Position in Central Government with a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License
  • Coupon Clerk/ canteen Clerk: Must hold analogous Position in Central Government or 3 years experience as a Canteen Assistant. Must have passed 10+2 and should have typing proficiency of 35 wpm in English and 30 wpm in Hindi
  • Salesman/ canteen Clerk: Must hold analogous Position in Central Government or 3 years experience as a Canteen Assistant. Must have passed 10+2 and should have typing proficiency of 35 wpm in English and 30 wpm in Hindi

Period of Deputation:

  • Period of deputation should not exceed 3 years and should never exceed more than 6 years on total.

Mode of Selection:

  • The selection of candidates will be done competently through departmental Procedures
