Freshersworld Jobs/ Opportunities In India

An Exploration to the Horizons of Core Specific Freshers world Opportunities In India

The very statement, that fresher jobs in India are becoming the talk of the town, is an understatement in itself. Prospects for freshers, who are passing out from the colleges at the graduation levels or post graduation levels, are ceaselessly getting lucrative. Not only are these openings found in the Government sector, but also the private companies have been opening their gates for the students fresh out of the academics. The time is perhaps the best for such students who are about to pass or have passed their degrees in the couple of years before and after the present day. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that if people are interested for the freshers job opportunities, then this is the most perfect time to do so because there are many jobs on offer for people.

Broad classifications put these job offers into two major categories. These are either government sector jobs or the jobs in the private companies. With various levelling factors like development in government departments, deployment at key positions, pay hikes, equal distribution of work force in India among the public and private sectors, there is hardly any major differences between the job prospects in these two broadly divided units. In order to portray the array of job opportunities in India, it would be prudent to put the various opportunities in individual sectors or industry wise.

IT Sector jobs:

Among the highest demanded jobs in the country as well as in the world, the one that gives out the greatest excitement to the prospective candidates is that in the sector of Information Technology. Not only are there a wide range of domestic and multinational companies offering freshers the opportunity to work in IT industries, but the scope of job profile is also quite widespread. Some of the companies that are gradually making waves in the IT sector are Maventic, HSL Software Solutions, Microsoft Corps, GE Healthcare, AdStock Global, HCL, Green Leap IT Solutions Pvt, Intellia Technologies, LSI Technologies, etc.

Some of the job profiles that are suited for the fresh pass outs are working as PHP developers, trainee software engineer, software developer, client engagement associate, junior software developer, IT sales managers, etc, which comprise of both technical and few non-technical categories. Many of these jobs are fittingly picked up by the graduates with degrees like BTech, BE, MCA or BCA, PG Diploma, or some of them are also fit for the graduates from any stream with the minimum computer knowledge.

Engineering Jobs:

Since the time when government jobs were only available for the taking students who had either passed out or about to pass out, had a knack for getting into these jobs. This was because the core sector industries were usually under the government look out, which in present day scenario has changed a bit.

Even private companies are setting up industries in the country, so that the engineering graduates with core engineering streams are opting for such jobs. Due to the skilled nature of such jobs, the payment is also quite good, in both these sectors, thereby furthering the demand by the fresh graduates.

Also, the companies are seen going for recruiting more in the entry level positions rather than in the mid level or senior level officers. In departments such as public works, hydroelectric, telecommunication, irrigation, technical assistants, police and related fields, ports, space research, atomic research, etc, many people are seen going for the jobs, if they have got the degrees of BE, BTech, BSc, and other such educational qualifications.

Research jobs:

Even if these are not the full time jobs for the graduates and post graduate students, they are no less than the precursors of some of the best research opportunities in the country. Qualifying through the CSIR-NET entrance exams, the freshers can get into the post of JRF and SRF, or work as research assistants and project assistants in various universities of higher education and research, or in independent research centres or in private companies which are engaged in innovative research technologies.

Organisations like IISc Bangalore, National Atmospheric Research Laboratory in Tirupati, IITs, University of Delhi, CRRI, BARC, CSIR-CFTRI, etc are places where the students can go for the research projects after completing their BSc or MSc and secure a PhD degree in the resume. Indian education system has widened graciously to include world class technologies in its research institutions and is laying more stress on various topics of research.

Teaching and Academic Jobs:

In a situation where Indian education system is growing with leaps and bounds, large numbers of institutions are coming and universities are being strengthened to provide more opportunities for the students to take admission. In such a scenario, there is an obvious need of competent and qualified teachers who can work at different hierarchies in the colleges. For the freshers in specialised fields, they can easily take up the teaching and academic jobs if they have an interest for interacting with students and are able to pass on the knowledge.

Due to this, there are a large number of students who are aiming to secure the posts of lecturers and assistant professors in the higher education institutes. such openings can be found in many of the educational institutions in the country such as in Manipur University, Kerala Agriculture University, School of Planning and Architecture, NIT Calicut, Osmania University, Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, to name a few. Many of these academic posts are also filled up with the process of selection by the respective public service commission of the state, which the central government institutions are filled up by the UPSC.

Defence Jobs:

Defence jobs in India have become a job of choice for many youths of the country, with better pay scales and openness in the working system of the three branches of Army, Navy and Air Force. Jobs in the defence sector are therefore being picked up by the students at different levels.

There are officer positions which the students can pick up after their 10+2 exam by appearing in the NDA exams and then taking up training in the NDA or people can go for CDS (Combined Defence Service) after finishing their graduations. There are also technical graduate courses, which the students can pick up after graduations in streams other than science. A few options are also found after the matriculation exams. These defence jobs are possible to be acquired at a very young age and it allows the students to not only earn but also learn a lot from their duties.

BPO/ KPO Jobs:

A job sector which is perhaps tailor-made for the freshers is that of the BPO and KPO jobs. Thousands of graduates from a variety of streams have opted for jobs in call centres, back offices, telemarketing centres, etc and have handled a variety of responsibilities like that of Customer Service Associate, Customer Support Executive, Technical Support Voice, Tele Caller, Process Executive, etc. These jobs are more about spontaneity and learning in the process rather than having any particular education background.

Due to this, the BPO and KPO sector has been one of the hottest and most preferred employment providers in the country. To make matters further conducive for the graduates, companies like Magna Infotech, Vortex Commodities Private Ltd, First Source Solutions, Mphasis Ltd, Syntel, Infosys, etc are providing suitable platforms for the students to be recruited in large numbers.

Management jobs:

When the winds of a particular trend sweeps across the country, it mostly affects the students who are about to get into jobs. Those graduates, who have recently passed management degrees or even completed part time MBA or executive MBAs, they are recruited by companies which need the positions of management trainees in different branches to be filled up.

Some of the other positions for which the management graduates are eligible as freshers are assistant managers, engineer trainees, executive assistants, client management associate, sales engineer, marketing and sales executive, HR executive or officer, etc. Various domestic and multinational companies are also hiring the fresh graduates in the posts as above or in some other managerial capacities, giving rise to a flurry of management colleges in the country to be sought after by the students, with every passing year.

Diploma Jobs:

Plenty of diploma holders can also take up jobs in the Indian industrial, hospitality, academics, etc like sectors where the fresh pass outs can work and learn the tricks of the jobs in due process. It is because of the readiness for recruitment of people with diplomas, by companies and institutions like HAL, UCIL, LIC, IITs, OHPC, etc that the diploma jobs are coming up in large scales in the country.

For the freshers in the Indian economic and social scenario, there couldn’t be a better time to secure jobs in their preferred posts and in sought after companies. The job scenario has changed to the better because the organisations in India are seeking practical knowledge over thick of educational qualifications. If freshers are willing to learn, work in a team and work to their limits, then they are the ones which will be surely getting into a job. The standard of education is also being moulded in the way to suit the industry requirements. The new concept these days is to get as much practical knowledge as possible, and add to the educational degrees as and when found appropriate.
