Facts And Information On BHU PMT For A Successful Preparation

The Banaras Hindu University is a very reputed university not only in India, but also in other parts of the world. The university is responsible for carrying out different exams at different periods of time for candidates with different eligibility criteria. The BHU PMT is also a very reputed test that is conducted every year. This is an All India Entrance Examination for admission into the medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, B. Pharm etc. There are several candidates across different parts of the country that appear for this exam.

Organization of the Exam:

BHU PMT is conducted by the Institute of Medical Sciences. The competition is one of the toughest in India, and this is the reason for which the best candidates prepare well and appear for the examination. All candidates might not get chance at one go, and therefore, these candidates can appear for this exam for a second attempt provided that they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

The Exact Pattern of Exam:

The pre medical test conducted by BHU follows a particular pattern, and the pattern is informed to the appearing candidates when they apply for this examination. BHU PMT is generally conducted in two different stages and these include screening and mains. The candidates who wish to pass the test need to appear for both the stages, especially for courses like MBBS or courses of BDS. However, on the contrary, the candidates, who wish to get entrance into courses like B. Pharm or BAMS might have to appear only for the screening test on the basis of the merit list.

Different Courses with Different Seats:

Different courses that can be obtained after qualifying in the Pre Medical Test of the Benaras Hindu University have different numbers of seats. The numbers of seats available each year for different courses again varies. For instance, in the year 2012, it has been estimated that for MBBS, there are about 84 seats in total, out of which 42 seats are reserved for general category, 23 for OBC, 13 for SC and 6 for ST. on the other hand, there are 38 seats for BDS with 19 for general, 10 for OBC, 6 for SC and 3 for ST. There are 78 seats for BAMS and 33 seats for B. Pharm. Thus, before application for BHU PMT, it is essential to check out the availability of the seats and carry out preparation in the best way.

The Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate who has passed 10+2 or intermediate or any other equivalent exam with compulsory subjects like Chemistry, Physics, English and Biology can sit for the exam. However, if they want to sit for MBBS, they should score at least 50% while for B. Pharm, they should score a minimum of 60%.
