Calcutta High Court is the oldest High Court in the country and was established as High Court of Judicature. Despite the change of name of the city of Calcutta in 2001 to Kolkata, the court still remains Calcutta High Court since it is an institution.

NOTE:
- The appointment will be purely on temporary basis till 31-12-2014 and likely to be made permanent for all category of posts.

Pay Scale and Remunerations:
- Lower Division Clerk: The selected candidates will be eligible for remuneration in the scale of PB-2 in the range of Rs.5400-Rs.25200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.2600 per month with other allowances as applicable.
- English Stenographer: The selected candidates will be eligible for remuneration in the scale of PB-3 in the range of Rs.7100-Rs.37600 and a Grade Pay of Rs.3900 per month with other allowances as applicable.
- Typist+Copyist: The selected candidates will be eligible for remuneration in the scale of PB-2 in the range of Rs.5400-Rs.25200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.2600 per month with other allowances as applicable.
- Group-D (Office Peon/Ejlash Peon/Orderly Peon/ Night Guard): The selected candidates will be eligible for remuneration in the scale of PB-1 in the range of Rs.4900-Rs.16200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.1700 per month with other allowances as applicable.
- Process Server: The selected candidates will be eligible for remuneration in the scale of PB-2 in the range of Rs.5400-Rs.25200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.2300 per month with other allowances as applicable.
Academics:
- Lower Division Clerk: The candidates should have passed Madhyamic or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with a Certificate of Computer Training. Candidates having a satisfying speed of Computer Typing in English will be preferred.
- English Stenographer: The candidates should have passed Madhyamic or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with a Certificate of Computer Training. They must have a good knowledge of English typewriting with a minimum shorthand speed of 80 words per minute in English and English-Typing speed of 30 words per minute for 10 minutes.
- Typist+Copyist: The candidates should have passed Madhyamic or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with a Certificate of Computer Training. They must have a minimum English-Typing speed of 30 words per minute on a Computer from a legible manuscript.
- Group-D (Office Peon/Ejlash Peon/Orderly Peon/ Night Guard): The candidates should have passed VIII standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board. The applicants must have ability to read and write in Bengali. For the post of Night Guard, the candidates should be sound health, good physique and free from any organic defect and bodily infirmity.
- Process Server: The candidates should have passed VIII standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board. The applicants must have ability to read and write in Bengali. The candidates should be sound health, good physique and free from any organic defect and bodily infirmity.
Age Requirement:
- The candidates applying for these posts must have attained the minimum age of 18 years and should not have exceeded maximum age limit is set at 40 years as on 01-Jan-2014
- However, there will be relaxation in upper age limit as per the rules of the state.
