Directorate of Coordination (Police Wireless) or DCPW Recruitment 2014 for Radio technician, Wireless Operator, Cipher Technician, and Dispatch Rider on Deputation
This Department came into existence in 1946, initially as `Inspectorate of Wireless’ and was later accorded the status of Directorate of Coordination (Police Wireless) or DCPW. This has been included as a subordinate organization, under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in 1950. It was entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating for developing and establishing the Police Telecommunication network in the country and also to advise MHA on all Police Telecommunication matters, predominant being round the clock communication between the Centre and State/UT capitals through a network of presently 27 Interstate Police Wireless Stations located in the State/UT capitals.
With the recent announcement from DCPW, it intend to invite candidature from the existing employees of the State and Central government, to join on deputation on various positions of Radio Technician, Wireless Operator, Cipher Operator and Dispatch Rider. Candidates who fulfill the requisite qualifications and age etc. for these posts, can apply to DCPW, to join this workforce for an penultimate exposure.

- Radio Technician (redesigned as Technical Assistant-MTEE)- Group-B: 43 Posts
- Wireless Operator (redesigned as Wireless Supervisor)- Group-B: 85 Posts
- Cipher Technician (redesigned as Cipher Assistant)- Group-B: 17 Posts
- Dispatch Rider– Group-C: 40 Posts

Pay provisions:
- Radio Technician (redesigned as Technical Assistant-MTEE)- Group-B: The candidates joining on this cadre will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300-Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200 in Pay Band-II
- Wireless Operator (redesigned as Wireless Supervisor)- Group-B: The candidates joining on this cadre will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300-Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200 in Pay Band-II
- Cipher Technician (redesigned as Cipher Assistant)- Group-B: The candidates joining on this cadre will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300-Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200 in Pay Band-II
- Dispatch Rider-Group-C: The candidates joining on this cadre will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200-Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 in Pay Band-I
- Apart from the salary, the selected candidates will be entitled to receive allowances and perks as per the central government regulations
Essential Criteria for Selection:
- Radio Technician (redesigned as Technical Assistant-MTEE)- Group-B: The candidates must have worked on an analogous cadre as an Officer with the Central/ State Police Telecommunication Branch with the same Pay Band OR, as an ASI (Radio Technician). They must have at least 3 years of regular service experience in respective grades.
- Wireless Operator (redesigned as Wireless Supervisor)- Group-B: The candidates must have worked on an analogous cadre as an Officer with the Central/ State Police Telecommunication Branch with the same Pay Band OR, as an ASI (Wireless Operator) with at least 2 years of regular service experience in respective grade OR, should have worked as a Head Constable (Wireless Operator) with at least 8 years of regular service experience in respective grade.
- Cipher Technician (redesigned as Cipher Assistant)- Group-B: The candidates must have worked in analogous post in Cipher Organizations under Central/ State Government with at least 3 years experience in regular Service, OR, candidates belonging to State/ Central Police Telecommunication Departments, who has passed Grade-III Cipher Test as conducted by DCPW or their organizations and having 3 years of practical experience of Cryptosystems. Candidates who do not qualify the Cipher Operator Grade-III test, must qualify this before deputation.
- Dispatch Rider-Group-C: The candidates must have worked on an analogous cadre as an Officer with the Central/ State Police Telecommunication Branch with the same Pay Band.
Age Requirement:
- Under no circumstances the candidates should have crossed 56 years of age as on closing date of receipt of application.
