Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission as the most crucial Government machinery is responsible for releasing notification, conducting examination as well as selection and recruitment of candidates for various departments of the state of Chhattisgarh. The public Service Commission is serving dedicatedly for supporting the state government for filling up various vacancies in departments as and when required. The PSC functions as the most important nodal agency for the Government of Chhattisgarh from the recruitment perspective.

With the recent announcement, the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission has notified for recruitment of 02 Vacancies of Registrar, 07 Vacancies of Deputy Registrar and 08 vacancies of Assistant Registrar, under the Higher Education Department of the state for the year 2014. Applications are invited from eligible applicants with adequate qualification and experience.

The details of the requirements and the eligibility conditions of application are as mentioned underneath:

Important Dates:

  • Starting date of Online Registration of Application: 25-Jun-2014 from 1200Hours
  • Final date for Online Registration of Application: 24-Jul-2014 till 2359 hours
  • Dates for correction of Submitted Application (only 1 time): 25-Jul-2014 till 31-Jul-2014

Name and Number of the vacancies: Total 17 Posts

  1. Registrar: 02 position (UR-01, ST-01)
  2. Deputy Registrar: 07 position (UR-03, SC-01, ST-02, OBC-01 out of which Woman-01)
  3. Assistant Registrar: 08 position (UR-03, SC-01, ST-03, OBC-01 out of which Woman-02)

Mode of application:

  • Through Online Application only as available on the website of Chhattisgarh PSC

Pay Provisions and Scale of Pay:

  • Registrar: The candidates selected for these posts will be eligible for a Pay Scale in PB-IV in the range of Rs.37400 – Rs.67000 along with a Grade Pay of Rs.8900.
  • Deputy Registrar: The candidates selected for these posts will be eligible for a Pay Scale in PB-III in the range of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 along with a Grade Pay of Rs.7600.
  • Assistant Registrar: The candidates selected for these posts will be eligible for a Pay Scale in PB-III in the range of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 along with a Grade Pay of Rs.6600.
  • Other perks, allowances and facilities will be applicable as per the state government norms

Probation Period:

  • The candidates selected for these posts will serve the Higher Education Department of the state on a probation period of 2 years from the date of their joining.

Academic Eligibility & Experience:

  • Registrar: The interested applicants must have completed Post-Graduation with at least 55% marks or B Grade (in UGC 7 Point Scale system) or its equivalent. They must have at least 15 years of experience in the Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of Rs.7000 or must have at least 08 years of experience in the AGP of Rs.8000 as an Assistant Professor or any equivalent experience thereof. Candidates having similar research experience or 15 years of Administration Experience out of which, 8 years experience as a Principal or 15 years experience in the State Civil Service, will also be considered for this job.
  • Deputy Registrar: The interested applicants must have completed Post-Graduation with at least 55% marks or B Grade (in UGC 7 Point Scale system) or its equivalent. They must have at least 09 years of experience in the Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of Rs.6000 as an Assistant Professor or any equivalent experience thereof. Candidates having similar research experience or 05 years of Administration/ Academic Experience as a Vice-Principal or similar years experience in the State Civil Service, will also be considered for this job. For these posts MBA (for Administrative persons) and PhD (for Academic Persons) is desired as an additional qualification.
  • Assistant Registrar: The interested applicants must have completed Post-Graduation with at least 55% marks or B Grade (in UGC 7 Point Scale system) or its equivalent. For these posts MBA (for Administrative persons) and PhD (for Academic Persons) as an additional qualification and experience in academics or administration is desired.

Age of the Candidates:

  • Registrar: The applicant should be above 40 years of age and must not have crossed maximum age of 50 years as on 01-Jan-2014.
  • Deputy Registrar: The applicant should be above 35 years of age and must not have crossed maximum age of 50 years as on 01-Jan-2014.
  • Assistant Registrar: The applicant should be above 23 years of age and must not have crossed maximum age of 35 years (40 years for the natives of Chhattisgarh) as on 01-Jan-2014.
  • For Scheduled categories (SC/ST & OBC) from the natives of Chhattisgarh, there will be relaxation as applicable as per the state government regulations.

Application fees:

  • For the candidates belonging UR and OBC categories (from Chhattisgarh & from other states): Rs. 400 only
  • For all others reserved categories (SC/ST, PWD, Ex-Servicemen from Chhattisgarh): Rs. 300 only
  • These fees can be paid as per the detailed instructions available during Online Submission of Application.
  • The fee concession will be applicable for reserved categories of Chhattisgarh State only. Other state candidates will be treated as Unreserved category.
  • The candidates can apply for more than one post, but the fee will remain the same. They have to specify their preference as per the number of posts in the Online Application Form.

Selection Procedure:

  • The selection for these posts will consist of scrutiny of candidature followed by a Personal Interview.
  • Candidates have to verify their original documents against their provided information before appearing in the Personal Interview.
  • A merit list will be prepared as per the outcome of the Interview.
  • The CG PSC reserves all rights for selection of these posts as per its norms.
