CBSE CTET September 2018 Notification: Class I to Class VIII Teacher Jobs

The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi will be conducting the 11th Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 16-September-2018, as per the recommendations of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education), for a candidate to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. The test will be conducted in 92 cities all over the country

The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi. CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

The Central Board of Secondary Education invites ONLINE application from eligible candidates for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), September 2018, for a person to be eligible for appointment as teacher for class I to class VIII.

Opening Date for Submission of Online Application: 22-June-2018
Closing Date for Submission of Online Application: 19-July-2019
Last Date for submission of Fee through E-challan or Debit/ Credit Card: 21-July-2018

Declaration of Results: 2nd Week of November, 2018
Dispatch of CTET Marks Statement/Certificate: December, 2018 on-wards

Structure Of CTET September-2018There will be two papers of CTET and the examination will consist of objective type Multiple Choice Question. There will be NO NEGATIVE marking in this exam.

Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Validity: A person who has qualified CTET, his eligibility will remain valid for a period of Seven years. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/ her score.

Minimum Educational Qualification:
Level – I – For becoming Primary Stage Teacher (for Classes I-V): Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), OR, Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Level – II – For becoming Elementary Stage Teacher (for Classes VI-VIII): Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), OR,Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), OR, Graduation with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE, OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed., OR, Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit specified for CTET applicants.

Mode of Selection: The selection of candidates will be done through a Written Test, where questions will be Objective Type in nature.

Application Fees:

  • For General / BC / OBC Category: Rs. 600/- (in case appearing in only one paper) and Rs.1000/- (in case appearing in both papers)
  • For SC / ST Category / Differently-Abled: Rs. 300/- (in case appearing in only one paper) and Rs.500/- (in case appearing in both papers)
  • The fee can be remitted by the candidates through e-challan by downloading e-challan form from CTET official website, after completing Part-II of Registration and deposit the Fee in CTET Exam Fee A/c with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.
  • The fee can also be paid by Debit/ Credit Card through Online mode.

How to Apply: The candidates may apply through ONLINE MODE ONLY at the websites of CTET-September, 2018 at www.ctet.nic.in 

The applicants are advised read through the instructions and guidelines as detailed at the same website before submission of online Application formAfter the completion of first phase of the registration, the candidates need to take-out the system generated fee payment e-challan and deposit requisite fees as stated on the complete advertisement. The fees can also be remitted online through Debit/ Credit Card. After the payment of fees, the next and final step of the registration can be carried out. The candidates are strongly suggested to have two hard copies of the online application, and challan if fee is paid by e-challan, for future reference.
