The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi has been entrusted to conduct the eighth Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) as per the recommendations of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education), and so invites ONLINE application from eligible candidates for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), Feb 2016, for a person to be eligible for appointment as teacher for class I to class VIII.
Validity: A person who has qualified CTET, his eligibility will remain valid for a period of Seven years. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/ her score. The details of the eligibility criteria and the recruitment norms are as under:

Structure Of CTET: There will be two papers of CTET and the examination will consist of objective type Multiple Choice Question. There will be NO NEGATIVE marking in this exam.
- Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
- Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
Minimum Educational Qualification:
- Level – I – For becoming Primary Stage Teacher (for Classes I-V): Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), OR, Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- Level – II – For becoming Elementary Stage Teacher (for Classes VI-VIII): Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), OR, Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), OR, Graduation with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE, OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), OR, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed., OR, Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit specified for CTET applicants.
Mode of Selection: The selection of candidates will be done through a Written Test, where questions will be Objective Type in nature.
Application Fees:
- For General / BC / OBC Category: Rs. 600/- (in case appearing in only one paper) and Rs.1000/- (in case appearing in both papers)
- For SC / ST Category / Differently-Abled: Rs. 300/- (in case appearing in only one paper) and Rs.500/- (in case appearing in both papers)
- The fee can be remitted by the candidates through E-Challan by depositing the prescribed fee in CTET Exam Fee Account with Syndicate Bank or HDFC Bank. in favour of “The Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi”.
- The fee can also be paid by Debit/ Credit Card through Online mode.
How to Apply: The candidates may apply through ONLINE MODE ONLY at the websites of CTET-Feb, 2016 at //ctet.nic.in
- The applicants are advised read through the instructions and guidelines as detailed at the same website before submission of online Application form, After the completion of first phase of the registration, the candidates need to take-out the system generated fee payment e-challan and deposit requisite fees as stated on the complete advertisement. The fees can also be remitted online through Debit/ Credit Card. After the payment of fees, the next and final step of the registration can be carried out.
- The candidates have to upload their recent scanned photograph and scanned signature at appropriate spaces on the Online Application. The candidates are strongly suggested to have two hard copies of the online application, and challan if fee is paid by e-challan, for future reference.
