After the isolation from the state of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh the Bihar Public Service Commission came into subsistence from April 1st in the year 1949.In the constitution of India it comes under the Article 315 as a constitutional body. Its constitutional status was marked with the proliferation on 26th January, 1950 of the Constitution of India. Its headquarter is in Ranchi and it primarily commence its operation for Bihar state. It was lastly shifted to Patna on March 1st in the year, 1951 as per the decision taken by State Government. Shri Rajandhari Sinha was the first chairman of the Bihar Public Service Commission.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced for the vacancy of Insurance Medical Officer. The total number of vacancies is 22 in which for unreserved category it is 08 for SC candidates it is 06, for ST candidates it is 01, for OBC it is 06 and OBC (female) it is 01.The recruitment is for both male and female candidates. The pay scale for this post is Rs. 6500-10500/- PM with a grade pay of Rs.5400.If the candidate is a government employee then his application will be accepted only in that case when their application is attested by any Gazette officer.
Eligibility Criteria: The age limit for the desirable candidates of unreserved category is minimum 21 years and maximum 37 years in case of male candidates and 40 years for female candidates. For OBC it is also 40 years and for reserved category the limitation is 42 years for both male and female candidates as on 01.08.2012.The desirable candidates must possess the MBBS degree from any recognized university and should come under the Bihar
Medical administration. Also, the candidate must have done his houseman ship for 6 months after giving their MBBS final exams. All the criteria’s have been made by the commission itself and it will not be changed at any cost.
Selection procedure: The selection procedure will be done on the basis of merit list prepared by the commission and interview. The merit list will be made on the basis of average percentage of marks obtained in all the three years of MBBS. The candidate has to obtain maximum marks both in the percentage level of their degree (60 marks) and interview (40 marks).In case if the applications accepted more than the vacancies announced the short listing will be done on the basis of their minimum educational qualification only. There is no any other mode of selection for this job.
Application submission process: The desirable candidates whom found suitable themselves for this job may download the application form and challan from the website bpsc.bih.nic.in. The candidates have to pay Rs. 150 which includes the application form of Rs. 100 and Rs. 50 as bank charges through the challan. If the candidate is of reserved category and belongs to Bihar state then he has to pay Rs. 75 as the fee. The application should be filled carefully enclosing all the necessary documents i.e. challan, two envelops
with a postage stamp of Rs. 25 to the given address on the website till 16-01-2013.
