With its recent proposal for acquiring potential human resource for Sector Motor Transport Workshop Group C cadre, BSF intends to recruit 67 numbers of Head Constables (Technical) in its SMT Workshop.

Scale of Pay:
- Head Constable (Technical) – Rs.5200–Rs.20200 with Grade Pay Rs.2400 in PB-I
- Other allowances and perks will be as per rules
Eligibility Conditions:
Academic/ Professional Qualification:
- Constable (Technical) – The applicants must have completed matriculation and must have undergone Basic Training in Armed Forces. The candidates should have completed mandatory Army Technical Course and must know Map Reading Standard-II.
Age:
- Head Constable (Technical) – The age of an applicant must not exceed 52 years as on last date of submission of application
Physical Standard (for all):
- Height – 165 cm (may be relaxed for certain candidates as per the exact notification of BSF for Head Constable candidates)
- Weight – proportionate to height
- Chest – Unexpanded 75 cm and expanded 80 cm
- Vision: 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without correction (without wearing glasses)
Eligibility Criteria for deputation/ Re-employment of Ex-Servicemen:
- Armed force personnel with at least 8 years of service in Pay band-I and grade Pay Rs.2000 and having possessing the requisite educational and professional qualification can join these posts on re-employment or deputation basis
- Retired Army personnel holding analogous education and professional qualification with not more than 2 years of break in service are eligible for consideration of these posts.
Selection Procedure:
- The selection will be done through Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency test (as required), competitive Written Examination and Interview as per the provisions of BSF
- Candidates will be further selected in order of merit
- The candidates will have to undergo a pre-recruitment medical test before final joining
