BMRCL/ 351 / ADM/ 2016 /O&M– Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), Bangalore invites online applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of Train Operator, Maintainer, Section Engineer Vacancies in the Operation and Maintenance Wing of BMRCL. Candidates can apply for any one post only. Selected candidates will have to undergo training wherever required.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a joint venture of Government of India and Government of Karnataka is a Special Purpose Vehicle entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of Bangalore Metro Rail Project. The details of the vacancies and the criteria of selection are detailed as under:
Train Operator: 225 Vacancies [212 Residual Parent cadre Posts, and 13 Local cadre Posts]
Maintainer: 72 Vacancies [53 Residual Parent cadre Posts, and 19 Local cadre Posts]
Section Engineer: 11 Vacancies [08 Residual Parent cadre Posts, and 03 Local cadre Posts]
Selection procedure: The selection will be made strictly on merit, on the basis of written examination. There shall be no negative marking in the written examination. Short listed candidates on the basis of written examination will be called for verification of the original documents and Kannada test followed by Medical Fitness Test.

Qualification:
- Train Operator: The candidate must have completed Matriculation plus three years Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Telecommunications / Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Electrical power Systems/ Industrial Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks.
- Maintainer: The candidate must have completed Matriculation plus two years ITI in any one of the following specific Engineering Trades, such as: Electrician/ Instrument Mechanic/ Mechanic Radio and TV/ Electronics Mechanics/ Wireman/ Fitter/ Mechanic Computer Hardware/ Mechanic –Industrial Electronics/ Information Technology & Electronics System Maintenance/ Mech. Communication Equipment Maintenance, Masonry, Carpentry, Building, Refrigeration and AC Mechanics Mechanic Mechatronics or any equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks.
- Section Engineer: Candidates must possess Engineering Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering/ Mechanical/ Telecommunication/ Applied Electronics & Instrumentation/ Computer Science and Engineering/ Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks.
- Knowledge of Kannada is must for these posts. The candidate should be able to Read, Speak, Understand and Write in Kannada.
Upper Age Limit As on 11-July-2016: 35 years for general candidates; 38 years for IIa, IIb, IIIa, IIIb category candidates; 40 years for SC/ ST and category 1 candidates; 50 years for ex-serviceman candidates.
Pay Scale-
Train Operator: Rs. 14000 – 26950/- IDA
Maintainer: Rs. 10170 – 18500/- IDA
Section Engineer: Rs. 16000 – 30770/- IDA

SC/ST candidates: Rs.300/- only
For All other candidates: Rs.700/- only
The fee can be remitted in shape of a Fee Payment Challan as available during Online Submission of Application, in any branch of State Bank of India.

Train Operator- 25 questions on general topics, 20 questions on electrical topics, 20 questions 4 on electronics, 20 questions on communication and 15 questions on mechanical topics
Maintainer- 25 questions on general topics, 15 questions on mathematics at SSLC level, 15 questions on Electrical topics, 15 questions on mechanical topics, 15 questions on Electronics, and 15 questions on Civil/ Carpentry topics
Section Engineer- 25 questions on general topics, 15 questions on computer science, 15 questions on electronics & communication, 15 questions on mechanical, 15 questions on electrical and 15 questions on civil topics
