Central Selection Board of Constable Recruitment Notification for Selection of 2649 Kakshyapal (Prison Guard) in Home Prisons Department, Government of Bihar
Important Notification: Last Date for Submission of Application for Prison Warder has been Extended till 16th October, 2015.Advertisement No: 03/2015- With the recent notification from the Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), Bihar, applications are being invited against vacancies for Kakshyapal (Prison Guard) in Home Prisons Department, Government of Bihar for the year 2015-16 for various prisons across the state. The details of the vacancies and criteria for selection thereof are described as under:
Name of the Post: Kakshyapal (Prison Guard) in Home Prisons Department, Government of Bihar
Number of Vacancies: 2649 Vacancies [Unreserved- 1093, BC- 242, EBC- 661, SC- 495, ST- 24, BC (Female)- 134]
- Reservation will be applicable for various categories as per state government norms. It will benefit only native candidates of Bihar State. Other State/UT applicants will be treated under unreserved category.
- The Positions will be filled in the manner- 50% from Direct Recruitment Process, 25% from Bihar Home Guards, and 25% from Retired Soldiers.

Mode of Application: The applications are intended to be filled through ONLINE mode only at the website of the Bihar SSC at //bssc.bih.nic.in
Criteria for Education: The applicant must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination from recognised board to be eligible to apply for these posts.
Pay Scale: The candidates selected for Kakshyapal (Prison Guard) positions will be eligible to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 along with other perks and allowances.
Criteria for Age: The candidates should have attained a minimum age of 18 years, and
Maximum 23 years for unreserved male candidates, 25 years for BC/ EBC category male candidates, 26 years for unreserved/ BC/ EBC category female candidates, and 28 years for SC/ ST category candidates as on 01-January-2015.
There will be five years of relaxation in upper age limit for Bihar Home Guards, and the Upper Age Limit for Retired Soldier is 45 years.
Selection Procedure: The candidates applying for the Excise Constable positions will have to appear for written examination of 300 marks (100 objective type questions of matriculation level). The shortlisted candidates on the basis of written exam will be called for Physical Fitness Test on the designated date. Shortlisted candidates on the basis of Physical Fitness Test will have to appear for medical examination.
Minimum Physical Fitness: The candidates applying for the Constable positions will have to pass the Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test to be eligible for selection.
- Physical Standard Test
Height: 165 cm (General/ BC/ EBC Male Candidates), 162 cm (SC/ ST Male candidates), 160 cm (Gurkha), and 155 cm (for all category women candidates)
Weight: In proportion to height
Chest (only for men): 81 cm (General/ BC/ EBC Male Candidates) with minimum 5 cm expansion. 79 cm (SC/ ST Male candidates and Gurkha) with minimum 5 cm expansion.
- Physical Efficiency Test
Run: Male candidates will have to complete the race of one mile in not more than 6 minutes. Female candidates will have to finish one kilometer race in 6 minutes.
Long Jump: Minimum 12 Foot for male candidates, and 9 Foot for female candidates.
High Jump: Minimum 4 Foot for male candidates, and 3 Foot for female candidates.
Application Fees: The candidates have to remit the requisite application fees in Online Mode during submission of online application form.
- Unreserved, BC and EBC (both Male and Female Candidates): Rs.450/-
- SC, ST (both Male and Female Candidates): Rs. 200/-
